Kzoo Posted January 22, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 22, 2021 Sad day. I remember where I was watching the game from the day he hit 715.
Allen ★ Posted January 22, 2021 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2021 Just saw this. My favorite baseball player of all time. I got to shake his hand once when he was still playing at a fan meet and greet. I was too young and shy to ask for his autograph.
BuffJim Posted January 22, 2021 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2021 I just watched a Legends of the Game type special on him a few weeks ago. A monumental talent, he had to endure a lot of racial vitriol that today’s athletes don’t face. I think his understated personality limited his stardom. Very classy guy.
dinneR ★ Posted January 22, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted January 22, 2021 He was so rock solid. He wasn't big, but could hit for avg or power. He was so consistent it's amazing. I saw him play at the end of his career in Milwaukee.

Kirby Posted January 22, 2021 Share #8 Posted January 22, 2021 A true legend and role model on and off the diamond. . This is an old, but nice article discussing his post-baseball business and charity work. He continued to use those efforts to help other people succeed. https://www.uwire.com/2011/12/07/baseball-legend-hank-aaron-focuses-on-charity/ Quote “An entrepreneur is willing to put his or her career on the line and take risks in the name of an idea and an ideal. Hank often talks about how many new managers, owners and jobs he’s created,” Belatti said. “We don’t talk as much about the money.” Aaron said his experience in baseball and entrepreneurship taught him two things: creating opportunities for others was essential to addressing economic and social issues and there are no shortcuts to success. Kirby Posted January 22, 2021 Share #9 Posted January 22, 2021 FYI, as a special tribute, they're airing the episode of MacGyver on H&I in which Hank Aaron made a special guest appearance.
