Parr8hed Posted September 2, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 2, 2014 But difficult when you try? Yea. She didn't really seem to get the idea that we were out there to go fast. Our goal is to get me less fat, get me in better cardio shape for run ups during cross season, and to wear her hyper ass out. Her idea of what we were doing out there seemed to be more like "Oooo look, a flower. Oh there's a horse. Ooooh, another dog barking. Wait, that's a different smell...SQUIRREL !!!!!" Granted, this was her first time. So we will keep trying.

Parr8hed Posted September 2, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted September 2, 2014 She'll get it. I loved to run with my dogs. She is still fairly young. And she is still very terrier.
Zealot Posted September 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 2, 2014 My running partners have all been large dogs - German shepherd, husky, lab, etc.
Zealot Posted September 2, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 2, 2014 I think a terrier might take a little more acclimation. ;-)

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted September 2, 2014 Share #9 Posted September 2, 2014 I think the first question to be answered is "Who let the dogs out?"

Longjohn ★ Posted September 2, 2014 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2014 My first time out with my dog she didn't get the picture. A week later she was great. I had to run with her on a leash because she would run away. The first time out she kept running in front of me and trying to get me tangled in her leash. She was getting to be a good running partner when my wife gave her away.
Parr8hed Posted September 2, 2014 Author Share #12 Posted September 2, 2014 Can you describe this dog you ran with? Not the one in the sunglasses. The floor mop on the right. The one that likes to steal Charlie's bed.

Ralphie ★ Posted September 2, 2014 Share #14 Posted September 2, 2014 I see the problem. That is a little frou-frou dog. You need a lab or something!
