Popular Post maddmaxx ★ Posted July 4, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 4, 2021 After last weeks red light in the finals fellow racers are having fun at my expense. Because of today's weather we didn't set up a christmas tree or timing system. We went with a flashlight starting system in the style of true street racers. Someone stands out in front of the starting line and when his flashlight comes on you go. So first round I do my burnouts and stage the car. Then I look at his hand holding the flashlight and when it lights I nail it. I hadn't heard him ask if we could see the light well when it came on. I had a great, damn near perfect launch and run, only then finding out that it was a light test. Drove back down to the starting line and went through the process again but I'd burned the good off my tires and the next launch was a left hood ending up on my roof. My reputation is cemented now. 4 1 1

maddmaxx ★ Posted July 4, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted July 4, 2021 Just now, Airehead said: Seems rigged No. When I go to the starting line I tend to be totally focused on what it supposed to happen. I saw the light and the train it won't stop now. 2

Popular Post groupw Posted July 5, 2021 Popular Post Share #5 Posted July 5, 2021 1/8th scale gas. We had a wicked headwind on the back straight. If you didn't have the front low enough, a blow over was possible. It was a qualifying heat and I was following a good friend down the back straight. About the time the cars shift to 2nd gear, his car lifted up and over mine, then landed right behind me as if he had hit an invisible Hot Wheels loop. We kept going, but on the driver's stand he said to me, "you saw that, too. Right?" 2 2

I do nothing before morning coffee. I make sure that the coffee maker is full before I go to bed so that all I have to do is stagger up and push a button. The first cup of coffee (and usually the only cup of coffee) is a ritual to be carefully followed to the letter.
