jsharr ★ Posted March 20 Share #6 Posted March 20 I would like to see some magma live and in person. We went to Hawaii but the volcanoes were being stingy and hoarding all the lava and magma. I did get to stand in some clouds of smelly steam that was rising up out of holes in the ground, which was nice, but surely live magma would be better. I think Iceland should export magma and we should be able to get some from Amazon and open it in our backyards to enjoy. I want to make S'mores over magma! Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted March 20 Share #7 Posted March 20 Hard to do when Iceland sits on both the European and North American tectonic plates.
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted March 20 Share #8 Posted March 20 One can dive between the plates if desired. I wonder if @Zephyr knows about this.
maddmaxx ★ Posted March 20 Share #9 Posted March 20 That would be considered a pretty magmanimous suggestion.

I got lucky and got to see lava pouring into the sea in 2016. Also, the after effects of the seams erupting a few years later. 1
