Popular Post groupw Posted September 24, 2021 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 24, 2021 Retiring LBS owner is clearing out the last of his inventory at this Junk Jaunt weekend. I knew he had a bunch of old Schwinns in the basement. I have been thinking of getting one for a cruiser. This one jumped out at me. It was actually refurbished by my friend who is now an engineer for Trek. He converted it to 700c wheels and had built it as a single speed. John thought it would be a better ride with a derailleur so he converted it to a 5-speed cassette on back. Killer price! Can’t wait to take it out this weekend! 6

donkpow Posted September 25, 2021 Share #6 Posted September 25, 2021 Nice bike. That derailleur looks to be fully extended, if not maxed out. 1

I rode it on my commute this morning. Rides smooth and easy. Strava said I maxxed at 17.4, but that was in the 4th cog. Never put it in 5th, but pretty sure 20ish will be comfortable which is plenty for how I plan to ride it. We don't have much for hills around here, but I'm sure I can deal with anything I would face on it!
