Randomguy Posted December 1, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 1, 2018 I went to Trader Joe's yesterday to get some staple foods like rice, bananas, cans of plum tomatoes, hopefully romaine, and a few items that RO likes. While there, it became clear that the entire food ecosystem in the US depends solely on romaine lettuce. No, there was no romaine, but all the other lettuces were fully depleted, purchased by people desperate for romaine. Everything was in turmoil, most of the racks of anything leafy and green were gone or were being frantically grabbed. Even the preshredded cabbage and the devil weeds like cilantro and arugula were taken immediately when rolled out, the poor employees did not even have time to put them in shelves. Without romaine, we are doomed.
Dirtyhip Posted December 1, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2018 We have tons of lettuce out here. All of the produce shelves are stocked.
