Yes, the artist is a welder and makes many things from metal. She is the one that owns the Spoonful Shop. Some folks like her art, while some donot. I personally like her work.

I like it as well, at least this example.  I've seen worse hanging in museums.

Maybe it’s because I viewed the image on my cell phone but the detail on the horse was  lost.  When I zoomed in on the horse I saw all of the fine detail. 

I liked the composition though with the clouds in the background.

I've had to wait a while for the right conditions. My next attempt will be in the early morning to reduce the shadows, and hopefully with some clouds in the background. The artist just emailed me and liked this version, and asked permission to use it on some of her sites. She will give me credit, and has displayed some of my photos at her shops in the past.

If that statue is actually in the center of a roundabout, I wonder how long it will be before someone blasts it back into scrap metal when they blow straight through it.

I would think it is pretty safe, as it is on a roundabout just entering town, so traffic is generally going pretty slow at this point. However, time will tell. They would have drive through a damn big rock on the roundabout on the south side of this one.
