Popular Post MickinMD ★ Posted June 25, 2022 Popular Post Share #1 Posted June 25, 2022 I lost the old yearbooks I had in the house fire 2 years ago, but I stumbled on a 1990 Yearbook for sale for $24.99 on eBay and just got it yesterday. Here is the 1990 Old Mill High Softball Team I coached, ranked 3rd in the state among the AAAA (Largest) High Schools. Catcher Monica, 3rd from right in the 2nd row, was the school's reigning Homecoming Queen that year - you can see from the picture how beautiful she was - and 3rd Basewoman Pam, on the right end of the back row won the title the next year. 1st basewoman Sherri, 2nd from right in the 2nd row, was voted into the Homecoming Queen's Court: she could bench press 240 lb! Our opponent's outfielders played deep when she was at bat! Monica was one of my Physics students and Pam was one of my Honors (Gifted and Talented) Chemistry students, so they weren't just a bunch of dumb jocks. In one game, Centerfielder Katie, 2nd from right in the front row, knew the tying run was on 3rd base with one out as she ran down a ball hit over her head. She knew that if she caught the ball running away from the plate, she couldn't keep the runner from scoring. So she leapt into the air and did a 180 degree twist, catching the ball as she landed on the ground facing home plate. The force involved drove her butt all the way down to the ground, but she sprang forward quickly and gunned down the runner who had tagged 3rd after the catch: out at home plate! The most amazing softball or baseball play I've ever seen at any level! That was a smart team. We won 7 of our first 10 games when we finally had a practice after so many rain-washed-out makeup games. I told the girls 7-3 wasn't that good, but they didn't need to work any harder if they didn't want college scholarships and trophies. They won the next 11 in a row before getting knocked-out, 3-2, in the State AAAA Semi-Finals by the eventual state champion. Monica got a full scholarship to and graduated from the United States Naval Academy. Michelle, 4th from left in the back row and our superb, All County Ace Pitcher, got a full scholarship to Stetson U. in Florida and is currently a lawyer in Annapolis. Katie, 2nd from right in the front row, got a partial scholarship to either North Carolina or North Carolina State.

groupw Posted June 25, 2022 Share #8 Posted June 25, 2022 Nice photo! From my job where 95% of the staff was women to social groups I’m in, I’m often one of the few, if not only male in the group. Last year a social group with similar political leanings invited us for drinks before a Hear Grand Island event. 2 other husbands showed up. We get along as well, but they weren’t into the bands that night so they left after their drink was done. At that point I was the only man at the table with 13 women. Many are good friends so it was not awkward for me and WoW was there as well. One lady asked if I was ok attending with so many women. What do you think people will say? A good friend replied they’re going to say look at that lucky guy with his harem!

maddmaxx ★ Posted June 25, 2022 Share #11 Posted June 25, 2022 These days you would need a co coach to ensure that the girls were not in the care of a predator.
