Popular Post KrAzY Posted April 16, 2019 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 16, 2019 DeeJay wants to know why the new saltwater tank does not have fish yet. She just does not understand that we are waiting for a quick cycle and get them this weekend. She did however discover not to drink the saltwater I was mixing. WoK has already picked out two clown fish for the tank.. the store is going to hold them for us until Saturday. I will have to wait another few weeks before I get them their first of three maybe four anemones. This is what she picked. They are lightning blue/maroon clown fish. They get the title blue because of the darker maroon colors.

Not yet.. it's still operating nicely without issues.. also did the math.. well I added up the wattage, and not sure how to convert to amps. The whole system is running 134 watts of power (if you add up what all they say they pull)

Well, he's got 2/3s of a chance of nothing happening. . . If it were me, I'd put a GFCI breaker on that circuit & be done with it.
Kirby Posted April 16, 2019 Share #11 Posted April 16, 2019 Just set up a screen and watch one of the live webcams from the Monterey Aquarium - you won't even have to change the water. 2
MickinMD Posted April 16, 2019 Share #12 Posted April 16, 2019 What kind of setup are you using? When I was raising freshwater Killifish, Angelfish, etc. in the 80's, I thought about trying a saltwater aquarium and read about a reef system where the gravel, etc. in the bottom rose toward the back of the aquarium in a sort of wedge configuration. I think it was similar to those under-gravel fresh water filtration systems. I tried that and didn't like it.

Where is the fun of that??? I also am sad because the way the Dallas and other large aquariums take care of their stuff.. everyone I have been too seems neglected in one way or another. I can get pictures when I get home, but I have the drain hole and return line drilled into the back of the tank. The water goes to the 10 gal sump, through the filtration system, through the skimmer, through the bubble trap, and into the pump chamber and then back into the tank. You gonna eat those fish after you kill them?
