  2. Day 2 of course practice. I rode the entire 20 mile course yesterday, and today I did two shuttles on the tougher parts if the course. It is really hot now and I am now resting and savin my energy credits for tomorrow when it is on like donkey kong. There are about 4 pretty big drops on this course. Tall enough to make you think twice about droppin in on them. There is a 3 second penalty to walk them. All the drops are mandatory. Yesterday, my ass puckered up tighter than a snare drum as I approached. I walked two of them. Today, I dropped them all. One of them was super sketch but I rode it out. You drop one and it lands into another rock garden. You better be ready on the landings. One sends you right into another rock drop. No time to compose yourself. The course is super sandy and loose on spots. Good cornering is key. Bettet push that outside foot down mad until that tire digs in. You can see crazy lines of people blowing off in the corners and it is only getting more loose by the minute. My riding is super clean and I feel strong. I admit that the girls here are intimidating a bit. They look burly. Like they could pick me up and toss me twenty feet. Hahaha. Regardless of how it goes tomorrow, I am havin a ton of fun ridin my Stumpy. I went to a shop here and saw the 2016 Stumpy. Ooofa! It is da bomb. Oh man... the floor model had some of my drool on it. The energy here at the race expo site is so cool. Shimano is here....santa cruz...fox...and the vendors continue to show up. We watched the kids race today. So cute to see the kids on striders bombing down this dusty loose hill. Haha

  3. Hahaha !!! Yeah, the red rubber will get dirty. But you'll look good and feel faster, just like when you were a kid and got new sneakers.

  4. Just finished putting another guitar back together. 1975 Harmony H-801. This one was a basket case that was likely headed for the dumpster. I hate to see that happen. I took everything apart, fixed the electronics, found an original style bridge for it, and basically went through everything. I'll let the neck settle out for a couple of days, then readjust the truss-rod and do a full setup. I know it's not something that is worth any money. I just hate to see the old stuff die...

  6. But ya'll liked us fine in the 60's and 70's. We had many American visitors then.

  7. I went to Montreal once for a several day conference, and stayed overnight in Vancouver on my way to Alaska. I found both visits to be pleasant.

  10. Working for me I think. Aww, its a pic of our first Mazda 3 the weekend after we bought it. I hadn't even put the rear wing on it yet. That was a great little car too.

  13. Just let it happen...and try to enjoy the event... Because you can't change anything now. Any major disaster or even a minor one...will now become a funny story re-told at family functions for many years.

  14. Much of the continent I've seen on two trips across the country when younger. Both were in the 50's. The first started in New England and went north to the maritimes and Prince Edward Island, then west through Canada and back through the southern US. The second was west across the Northern part of the US and back through the middle. Those two touched every state but Hawaii. Later in life I did many of those places and more but in a more hopscotch fashion. That included the great southeast asian tour, Cuba, Haiti and brief parts of Europe. Many of the later trips involved 18 hr working days and sleeping on whatever was flat so I can't claim to have viewed much as a tourist.

  15. It does look nice. You got most of it right, but any photog should know that your chain needs to be on the big dog for a posed photo shoot.

  16. I posted this picture right after I took it a couple weeks ago but it is one of my favorites. My granddaughter was painting her grandma's toenails before we went to church. This seven year old girl is so sweet, I can't spoil her enough.

  20. Nicely coordinated. More tastefully done than I could have managed. I apologize that I couldn't help but notice that Z's pump was twice the size of yours though.

  26. I think my favorite excuse I heard from the last company was: Company: "Even though you have everything we are looking for and you have been in this line of work for over 13 years, we are going to have to go with another applicant that just graduated college. I wish you luck in finding the right job." Me: "thank you for your time, if it does not work out with the new college student please let me know. This is a rough line of work that many people are not cut out for" What I should have said if I wanted to burn the bridge: "Good luck watching every move they make and changing his diaper once he gets into a confined space 200 feet in the air on a rope the size of you pinky. I will be waiting on your call when he kills off half of his team when he goes full retard"

  28. My last traditional job in corporate aviation ended 4 years ago. After looking for a year and hearing over and over that I was overqualified for the position, I started my own business. If the right opportunity comes along, I will do both but I will never rely on an employer again.

  29. I like Canada. It keeps the United States warmer, like insulation. I have been there a couple of times, and liked much of it, even the french Canadians.

  31. My wife has a new one as of last Friday. I don't think she will let me take pics of it but it looks great. It's perkier than the fourteen year old one that they had to remove to get to the cancer that they had to remove. She is doing great other than having a rough day on Tuesday. I still don't know what was going on then but lots of tests and they said everything was perfect.
