Popular Post petitepedal ★ Posted November 19, 2020 Popular Post Share #1 Posted November 19, 2020 Decided to cancel my trainer session..our governor is shutting more stuff..Covid is just to scary...Got to work had a resident ticked off the he couldnt open the door of his new fridge..turned out he had a left hinge and needed a right..Got snapped at by the head of maintenance when I politely reported this. Board meeting was today at work Phone issues..Again..our phone company does not do well when 2 people move in within a couple of days of each other..and 1 phone number they gave me for a new resident was the same number they gave me last month that they turned around and said it wasn't one of their assigned numbers..so twice now new residents have been given a number that doesnt belong to them. Hand to back track my directory an new member notice. THEN Someone came in with the next game round for residents..and they need to make 1000 copies..on cooled paper...That is a lot of printing and It would be nice to know in advance so I can have paper available for my regular stuff..and this big thing. Then there were a couple of TV's to deal with. Then my present Manager came in to tell me I am to get a significant ...raise..it passed in the budget and I should get it at my annual review (I haven't had one of those in years) I said...early March (my hire date) He said...oh I am gonna see you get it before then..also...I guess the title of Office Manager. I go off to work on TV number 2..FYI measure the size of your TV when putting the mount on the wall..and if you don't know what the fuck you are doing don't mess with setting up a TV.. I get back to my desk and my neighbor has texted me about Sheriff's Dept..squads unmarked cars...and then she sends a pic..and then the street is blocked off..people got a shelter in place notice on their phones ...I am still at work..a resident is asking me about furniture disposal when another resident comes to ask me if getting the new dishwasher installed could mess with his stove..cos smoke is pouring out of it Thankfully, he had shut the stove off..but there was a puddle of grease in the bottom of the oven..the smoke was clearing..the alarms did not go off and all was well. I clocked out and headed for home..made a quick shopping stop...got to the train tracks by my house..and I had to back up so the firetruck that had been used to block the street..could leave..going up the wrong side of the road due to the street barriers they installed for us to be a no horn zone for the trains. As I drive in..still lots is squads our place and up the hill...the SWAT team..Holy Crap I went to get the mail..2 female sheriffs were standing in the doorway..I asked if there was anything I should be aware of as board president..and mentioned that drug paraphernalia had been found by our entrance..and had been a topic at our board meeting. She said she couldn't comment on an ongoing conversation... but it wasn't drugs what the F could it be... If it’s an on going investigation or criminal complaint they won’t tell you. If it was Cold call on vandalism or drug paraphernalia they’d tell you. Glad you made it through the day and a raise is always nice. When I have a crap day I always say to myself, ain’t nobody trying to kill me so yeah I can deal with this... Congratulations on the raise and new title. While the title change may not affect your day to day activities, it's always nice to know that people appreciate all the work you do and the variety of issues you handle.
