Prophet Zacharia Posted February 17, 2021 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2021 We were supposed to get 1/4” of ice over night. Temps stayed up however, didn’t start to freeze until 7 am. Dodged a bullet, it just rained all night.

Longjohn ★ Posted February 18, 2021 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2021 My firewood girl text me that she was bringing a load of firewood this morning. I hit the start button on my fob so the Pilot could maybe melt some of the ice off the windshield while I got my shower. I needed to move the pilot to give her room to back that big ol Kenworth over to where I wanted her to dump the wood. I finished my shower and got dressed and went outside. The windshield was still completely covered with ice. It was 3° this morning and I guess 15 minutes wasn’t long enough to melt the ice. I used my long handled ice scraper as a hammer and broke the ice into smaller pieces that I could throw off the windshield. The defroster had warmed the windshield enough that the ice wasn’t stuck to the glass but the half inch of ice and several inches of snow were more than I could push off the windshield in one piece. The Odyssey is still ice covered. I’m hoping I don’t need to drive it until the spring thaw.

It’ snot a big deal if I didn’t have to move the Pilot to make room for the big truck. I don’t think I have to go anywhere until next Friday.
