Johnny Come Lately Name Posted July 27, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted July 27, 2015 Sure you do, have you checked under the seat of your truck?I'd have to squeeze it out of the seat cushions, and it's probably yogurt by now. I'm going to say what you would say to me "That was dumb"Very good. You got the point of this post. Have a cookie.

LoneWolf Posted July 28, 2015 Share #11 Posted July 28, 2015 I would go with "What were you thinking?" but I think you established that part for yourself already without my help.
Longjohn ★ Posted July 28, 2015 Share #12 Posted July 28, 2015 One of these days I should test my pump and make sure it still works. It's been riding around on the bike for thousands of miles without being needed. I might also want to check my spare tubes and patches, they have about the same miles on them riding around in the seat bag.

Longjohn ★ Posted July 28, 2015 Share #14 Posted July 28, 2015 The only time I had to walk with a bad tire was before I understood I needed to carry something to boot a ripped tire. Capri Sun pouches work pretty good, anything made with Mylar. I have used money too, didn't have a dollar bill so I used a five.

TrentonMakes Posted July 28, 2015 Share #17 Posted July 28, 2015 This post makes me think about when I was a kid and I'd run out of the house, jump on the bike and go. I guess we were never very far from the house though.I miss the days when we could spend an entire hour on our bikes while staying within a half-mile radius of the house. Nowadays that doesn't stay interesting for long.My flat-tire-walkin' shoes were a lot more comfortable then too.
Johnny Come Lately Name Posted July 28, 2015 Author Share #18 Posted July 28, 2015 I guess we were never very far from the house though.I was. In fact, last night I was about as far from the house as I used to go, as a kid. Funny thing, as a kid, I only remember one flat - we left my bike at a farm and my buddy and I rode double the four or five miles home. The only other mechanical I remember was my buddy broke a chain and I towed him home about five miles.Well, there was the time I ran into the back of my sister's bike, drove the point of the fender into the tire and we had to walk about four miles home..... I remember this because she still brings it up, on occasion.....
Johnny Come Lately Name Posted July 28, 2015 Author Share #19 Posted July 28, 2015 I like the voice of experience. When doing a roadside tube-swap, tie a knot in the bad tube, when you take it out, so that you don't put it back in. .....or so I've heard....
