She's also famous for:

Evelyn Nesbit was an extremely popular American chorus girl, artists' model and an actress in the late 1800s and early 20th century. 

Her face and figure seemed to appear everywhere, appearing many newspapers and magazine advertisements, but she perhaps became most well-known thanks to her husband. 

Multi-millionaire Harry Kendall Thaw shot and murdered Nesbit's ex-lover Stanford White on the rooftop theatre of Madison Square Garden on June 25 1906, which led to what was termed the trial of the century.  After one hung jury, he was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

I'd question the "ex-lover" part of that if it really was an act of insanity (crime of passion) sort of thing.  You don't really go around killing old boyfriends or even former husbands in most cases.
