Razors Edge ★ Posted August 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2019 ...regardless of type (dill, bread & butter, etc)? Seems like, as a veggie, they get points, but the way they are prepared might negate a bit of that?

ChrisL Posted August 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 13, 2019 Pickles are good snack foods for diabetics, just not the sweet ones. So yes they are a healthier alternative to less healthy snacks. I’m a salty snacker & go through a jar of pickles & a jar of pickled beets or garden mix a week. I munch on them when I have a snack attack as opposed to chips.

You are so very very very wrong here. A pickle tray will include baby gherkins along with pimento stuffed olives. The juxtaposition of the sweet pickle vs the salty olive is what unicorn tears are based off of. 1

Tizeye Posted August 13, 2019 Share #20 Posted August 13, 2019 While it is terrible for high blood pressure, my mother has an issue with low blood pressure and passing out. The doctor actually gave her instructions to drink pickle juice as recovering from an episode.
Zephyr Posted August 13, 2019 Share #21 Posted August 13, 2019 My wife does spicy dill pickles, and pickles them with jalepenos in the same jar. They are super wicked good 2
12string Posted August 13, 2019 Share #22 Posted August 13, 2019 pickles don't have to be salty. the wife just pickled a few more jars of beets last night. I have a dozen jars of pickled watermelon radishes in the pantry. When the cukes and peppers come in, I'll do dill, b&b, gherkin. Serrranos in gherkin pickling are awesome

MoseySusan Posted August 14, 2019 Share #24 Posted August 14, 2019 My brother makes divine garlic dill pickles. I like almost all kinds of pickles except sweet. They cause my jaw to tense up.
