I am betting that you would as well if you had a heated floor panel under your feet on a 17 hour trip.

Never! I would simply air condition my shoes.
2Far ★ Posted December 6, 2019 Share #8 Posted December 6, 2019 Not typically, though I may have put on some airline slippers on the JFK-JNB routes.
Prophet Zacharia Posted December 6, 2019 Share #9 Posted December 6, 2019 How long of a flight? Over 5 hours, maybe.

For US flights, it is generally a untie and loosen the laces sort of thing. For longer international stuff, it is the untie, loosen, and remove where I can then just slip them on each time I get up. Luckily, my feet don't smell, but I think RG is wise & kind to keep his shoes on.
Naomi Posted December 6, 2019 Share #11 Posted December 6, 2019 I never have in the back end though. Those carpets are disgusting.
maddmaxx ★ Posted December 6, 2019 Share #12 Posted December 6, 2019 I have, but on a 17 hour flight it can be difficult to get them back on.
donkpow Posted December 6, 2019 Share #13 Posted December 6, 2019 After I work in the muddy landscape or garden, I'll sit on the first step and take off my shoes. Does that make me bad? I hope not.
ChrisL Posted December 6, 2019 Share #14 Posted December 6, 2019 We often fly cross country and I usually do. I’m weird though in that I don’t take them off until we are well in the air, in the event I have to haul ass due to an aborted take off. I then put my shoes in before landing in the event I have to haul ass due to an issue in landing. If something happens mid flight I’m screwed & will die with my shoes off
