petitepedal ★ Posted November 25, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted November 25, 2021 I just got my birdie in the oven..they were not kind to this 9.6 pound bird...I hope I successfully covered the bare spots on the breast..and it definitely needed being "well secured"..the body was a bit smushed . Further Posted November 25, 2021 Share #12 Posted November 25, 2021 Turkey is in the oven for another hour or so, cranberry sauce is cooling on the back porch, sweet potatoes are in the oven. I'll start the green beans and brussels sprouts shortly This used to be a big family gathering, somehow people have scattered and there are several smaller gatherings, we will talk on the phone and share memories and best wishes but I miss the big gathering at Granma's little house, every seat full, the kitchen windows open and the fan running trying to keep the heat from all the cooking and people down. There were a lot of good cooks and the food was always excellent. So it has become a little bittersweet, but I'm thankful for my kids, both healthy and self supporting. I'm thankful that even though they are not here in person, we have people to call. Even though I moan & groan a bit, I'm thankful that I'm still pretty healthy.
