Wife said we can't go smaller. Old one was a console style projector. It sat out from the wall about 2 feet on a stand. This new one will be mounted over the faarplace. It will be slightly further away so it has to be bigger to remain the same viewing size? Right?

Yep and you have to take into account the new ones all have thinner frames around the edges, so you have to go bigger just to make sure it doesn't look smaller.

If we do it is really just ambience. We just burn the fake logs in it. Don't use it to heat the room.

12string Posted May 4, 2018 Share #17 Posted May 4, 2018 A few years back, while helping friends move their kids into Kentucky, we got a tour of Churchill Downs. Have to say, it was pretty cool. We were on the early tour, so they were still working out the horses.

Ours is above our gas fireplace that we use somewhat frequently in the winter. It has not been a problem for the 7 year old TV.

sheep_herder ★ Posted May 4, 2018 Share #21 Posted May 4, 2018 Glad we just have a 32" smart tv at eye level. Folks with larger ones have to have HD video that is mucho expensive in our town. Our tv appears big compared to the computer monitor that I watch most of the time. We also have a very small space for tv viewing.
