maddmaxx Posted July 7, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2018 For some of us the type of file can be a problem. Chromebooks don't like .avi files. All sound, black screen.

Further Posted July 7, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted July 7, 2018 I listen to music almost exclusively on youtube, so losing the audio is a deal breaker. Audio works on Pandora & I heart radio but not you tube. It was working fine, closed it, opened it a bit later & no sound. Any ideas ? This is an ancient little net book thing, so I'll probably just replace it, but I'm curious as to why it quit working.

late Posted July 7, 2018 Share #12 Posted July 7, 2018 If that fails, you can delete and reinstall. Sorry about the dumb question, but have you clicked on the speaker icon? It's easy to shut it off without meaning to.
Further Posted July 7, 2018 Author Share #13 Posted July 7, 2018 I feel so foolish The toolbar at the bottom of the video ? Did you know that has a mute button ? In my defense that toolbar isn't normally on the screen.

That is one reason I keep my speakers physically turned off and have a headset where can hear low rumble of sound and put them on if I want to.
