I was at PT today and on the nasty Schwinn exercise bike. I hate that thing. It's too tall for me (of course), the wheel is weighted and pushes my knee around, and the fat-ass seat is tilted UP. Hate it. So I was on it pedaling forward then backward because I don't have enough bend in my knee for a full pedal stroke. I wasn't paying close enough attention, and one backwards pedal stroke got out of hand. Oof, stop!! It didn't hurt, but it pulled pretty hard. I kept going and got a little distracted again..... Hey wait.. did I just do a full pedal stroke??!! I carefully tried the next revolution, and sure enough! Full pedal stroke! I was perched on that stupid thing frantically looking for Paul, my PT guy, to tell him the good news. I was all giddy telling him about it! Riding a real bike any day now!!!

Scott, the nephew with an opioid problem and his skank girlfriend had a baby girl, Aubree, four to six months ago. Skank girlfriend and/or her mom were busted for drugs and Aubree was placed into foster care by social services. Foster care was actually Scott's adopted mom, Janet-the-Martyr (JtM) and her sister Susan, my wife. Today was the custody hearing where Scott's birth mother, Sarah and her husband, are applying to adopt Aubree. The court ruled that was good and Aubree gets to live with her maternal grandmother as her mom. It's weird but good. The woman who gave her son up for adoption when she was 15, is adopting his daughter years later. Other good news, we have some people coming over Wednesday night to look at the house. I hope we get an offer.

Second day of all terrier trial. Lindy ran twice and came out on top both times. There were 28 dogs in his class. I am very proud of him. If I don't choke. He may get a new title tomorrow. I would be thrilled. He would still just want love and steak.

Ryan stayed in the ring. Lindy was first in his class.

We were totally into CB's into the 70's. And my dad taught diesel mechanics. I was going to be a truck driver when I grew up...after I took my Dad's class, of course!

The new materials are pretty amazing. I am on my second carbon MTB. No issues, and I have beat the living crap out them. Unless you are one of my buyers on craigslist, in that case...they were hardly ridden.

22 on dirt this evening. 2 more than last night. Rode hard; very tired.

12 miles on the AWOL. 7 on pavement, 5 on singletrack. I feel like I don't know what I'm doing but it's still fun.

Great! The question I would have, though, is why they don't have a better "bike" setup there? I could see all those issues you mention actually causing more harm than good, especially with a compromised knee/hip/ankle/whatever. Tom

17 on the Dark Island Trail @ 12.1 mph. We left as the sun was setting and near full moon rising in the east. Headlights needed as we turned back. Great group ride with cheap tacos and beer at the end.

Here's one I made as a promo for the co-op charity. I created and performed the trumpet and percussion solos (changing the phrasing of the song to accommodate). The trombone solo was part of the original music piece.
