  1. Since I didn't have the sidecar project finished for this weekend Dale took Wo46 out her test. She was a little nervous getting ready. Getting up to full race speed Now we can't get the smile off her face. So she has to take her final test at Road American next Friday. How cool is that.

A small fanny pack for $16.94. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019BQNTL0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The buckle is a little annoying so I'll probably modify the belt and use Velcro on the elastic band instead of plastic buckles. I need to dial in the size before I do any cutting.

  11. Tried a new joint a few days back, got a take out Cuban sandwich, at the time I thought 13 dollars for a sammich was kinda high. So I finished the sandwich today, 4 meals, really good pork. 13 dollars doesn't seem so bad.

  12. Over the years, we've piled in ethnic wholesale food destinations in a bike ride or 2 routes in town. Just today, while riding back from our Italian food and deli supermarket /wholesaler near the airport, I spotted .....the Samosa Factory. Looks like all sorts of East Indian samosas and pakoras for restaurants and food places here and all over the province. Mind you, I'm picky about samosas..since many tend to be overly deep fried. Am hoping freshly made and veggie/fish options will be good. Then 8 kms later homeward, my bike route takes one by a wholesale Mediterranean bakery and factory outlet where there's fresh, cheap Mediterranean flatbread of all types, different fresh phyllo pastries and luscious, not overly salty hummus. I love their hummus because it's not too gummy and not too salty. This place ships products to major grocery stores in 2-3 Canadian western provinces. This whole bike ride round trip is approx. 30 km. ---approx. 70% through valley park pathway system by a creek, away from cars. Until one hits downtown (all pathway here) there's hardly any people on the path. Getting to these wholesale food destinations, is through semi industrial areas which on weekends, is very peaceful cycling. It's relaxing and fun to get there, to be at these places and we save money, while getting the best quality for such foods.

  16. We can’t know for sure. That’s why it’s called the Uncertainty Principle. Did you hear about the time Schrödinger got pulled over for speeding? The cop came up to the car and said “Do you know you were going 90 miles an hour???” “Great! Now we’re lost!”

  20. There was a local donut ride today. I completely forgot about it until I got a reminder at exactly 8 o’clock the time the ride started. I was going to go anyway but I would be riding by myself since I would be an hour late. No need to spend $20 to ride by myself. I went kayaking instead. I’m still on the lake.

The sign outside of Thomson's Tavern read, "Please leaver your beer outside the tavern" and there was a designated table. I would have taken a picture but I did not have a cell phone in 1830.

St. Louis Area Tour de Cure 2018 Metric Century Route. Cool and rainy. Big storm rolled in just as I finished. Sure glad that I didn't to the full century route.

  37. At worse, pull the SD card out of the camera and insert in computer. Will be seen as a drive, then copy/paste to where you want . As far as cable from camera to computer, they typically are a usb cable with standard connector to the computer, and either a micro (small, narrow) or mini (small, but a little larger and wider/fatter). Look at the camera to see which size. Doesn't have to be the camera's original cable and probably have several of each lying around. I actually keep a micro attached to the front USB port on the computer because so many things use it - My camera, this keyboard to re-charge battery, etc.

  42. Bouillon cubes are a reasonable alternative but, as someone who only occasionally needs stock, I love Better Than Bouillion - a paste which is not-refrigerated when you buy or store it, but you do refrigerate it after opening and it lasts for over a year. It's MUCH closer to real stock than bouillon cubes. In my area. the chicken and beef varieties are available in Costco and Safeway stores and I think more- the website only lists Safeway. An unopened jar I bought at Costco a couple months ago says "Best if used by Dec. 12, 2019." and Better Than Bouillon's website (https://www.betterthanbouillon.com/faq.aspx) says: "Provided it has been stored properly, to include refrigeration after opening, the Food Base is good to use after opening until its “Best if used by date”. Please follow the “Best if used by date” printed on the top of the label." I buy the Roasted Chicken Base because it goes with everything I make and is a fine substitute for beef base, which I don't use often enough to buy a 2nd jar. Costco carries the 8 oz. Roasted Chicken and Beef. There are also several other bases and some in 3.5 oz. sizes by the same company - check them out at the link I provided above. I use it when making homemade soups, and for things like my favorite pressure cooker meal, Pot Roast with Mushroom Gravy, listed under the Better than Bouillon picture: Pressure Cooker Pot Roast With Mushroom Gravy - Easy http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/pressure-cooker-pot-roast-with-mushroom-gravy-easy-380069 By Shelley Lee on July 03, 2009 4.8 stars/5, 10 reviewers Prep Time: 10 mins Total Time: 1 hr Servings: 6-8 About This Recipe "This is a super easy recipe and SO good! Makes it's own gravy. I adapted this from my favorite crock pot recipe for pot roast. Just cook and serve with steamed rice. I'm new to pressure cooking and I just LOVE it!" Ingredients 3 lbs chuck roast, 2-3 inches thick 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 (1 7/8 ounce) envelopes onion soup mix ( or onion mushroom soup mix) 2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup 1 cup water ( or beef or chicken stock) SUBSTITUTION by Mickey: I use 1 can cream of mushroom soup (no added can water), 1.5 cups water, and 2 tbsp. of "Better Than Bouillon" Chicken Base instead of the recipe's original 2 cans cream of mush. soup and 1 cup water. Directions Brown meat on all sides in oil in cooker. Mix all other ingredients and add to cooker, coating meat. Cover and cook 50-60 minutes after control jiggles. Cool cooker normally for 5 minutes, then place under faucet to depressurize. The gravy came out perfect for us -- thin with beef stock or thicken to your own taste. Reviews Chef Pivo: My family loves this recipe. I used to do it the slow cooker, but love the consistency, flavor and speed that the pressure cooker offers. I usually thicken the gravy afterwards with a little corn starch. Otherwise it's perfect! KateL: Home cooking home run! This brought back fond memories for DH and me. I felt guilty about the simplicity of this recipe, but that fell away when we enjoyed the tender, moist chuck roast. This made a LOT of gravy. For us, this serves 4 with healthy appetites. Served with roasted potatoes, green beans and red bell peppers. CA Canner: Used a vegetable steamer insert with peeled potatoes, onion cut into quarters, and whole shallots up out of the liquid. It keeps them from turning into mush. Easy and wonderful pressure cooker recipe!

  45. Boys...you ain't seen nothing yet. After over fifty-six years of marriage I separated from my wife and now live alone. Not something I anticipated would happen when I was approaching eighty but I was left with little choice. It's not as bad as it seems as I have all my ailments to keep me company. I'm now haunted by the idea that perhaps if we could have held on for another twenty or so years we could have worked it out.
