  1. He had dealt with numerous health issues the past 10 years so this was not totally unexpected. My mom found him semi- unresponsive Wednesday morning and he was taken by ambulance to hospital and passed around noontime. I will miss him greatly but am also thankful he is no longer hurting. We had a memorial service on Saturday.

  3. I'm making my bed and suddenly ther is this rumbly sound...I am paranoid about frozen pipes..cos it happens when folks open their windows..a couple years ago my friend had ceiling, wall and flooring damaged when the person above her opened her patio door. ...Anyway I started wondering what the heck the neighbors..either next to me or above me had running..I looked out the window wondering if it was a big ol tow truck...then I leaned over...wondering if it was coming from the garage.....when I leaned over to tuck in my sheet..I leaned against the bed controls..my bed was vibrating and making the noise..

  8. Everything is for sale.... But I don't have it listed. G wanted a pickup. He wanted to sell the Jeep. A truck just fits his new lifestyle better. There was a clapped out old Chevy that one of his friends was selling for way too much money. I took his Jeep back and gave him my f150. We sold the Jeep. I will now keep the 350 as MY truck. We will start driving Jen's Exploder to work most days. But with snow on the ground today the 350 had better taars on it. Need to put a set on the Exploder and just have not gotten around to it. I made some mods to the emissions system on the 350 that make it much nicer to drive as a daily driver. It needs a few small things, but drives so nice. I just love that truck and really hated to see it go. This way everyone is happy. Except Jen. She is never happy.

  13. Block heater or battery minder? Remember to unplug before driving away. I met a guy at the gas station a couple of weeks ago who forgot. He was dragging the extension cord behind the truck.

  18. AKA Opa is a dope! So CJ was dropped off bright & early and he helped me pack my lunch and get my stuff to the car. In between there was hide & seek and lots of chasing around the house. OK buddy Opa has to leave now & I give him a big kiss on the cheek & turn towards my car. Oma: boy aren’t you the lucky one you get a kiss and I don’t????

  19. At the top of a 25 foot ladder I'm scared a lot. We visited Sedona AZ, an WoBG wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride. I figured... fine so today is the day I die. We went up in the balloon, several other balloons also flew from the same site. Of course our pilot went up at least twice as high as the other balloons. By some miracle I wasn't scared at all. . It was a great flight.

  36. The retirement gig is nice. Like Bikeguy just said, we prepared for retirement from our careers. We’re still caretakers for #2, which comes with obligations on our time, but it’s been manageable. I volunteer, I study two languages, I started learning to play the guitar, I read books, I dedicate at least 45 minutes each day to a specific physical activity, I cook more complex foods, and we travel. We’re planning a few weeks in Great Britain mid-fall. A few doctors appointments each year to keep an eye on CKD, but otherwise good health. I do wonder about β€œthe clock running out.” No one of us can say exactly when the final buzzer will sound, and it’s not like we have a timer on the wall displaying the countdown. I don’t remember thinking about remaining time as an existential question while I was working. I definitely counted minutes, hours, days, and the clock definitely marked time left until the end of the task, the class, the break, the reheated lunch. Retirement has changed the meaning of time for me.
