At 4:00 today, I received an email with paperwork and a lease for #2. I filled it all out and dropped it off at the housing office 30 minutes before closing. I have a signed lease. I will pay them tomorrow and should get keys.

This was a golf day in Vegas but the hand kept me from all shots but putting. He gave me regulation greens and i had to putt from the fringe. At a buck a hole I only lost 9 bucks for the match. Now for a Garth Brooks concert and a late flight.

Are you good at self-motivation? I usually am, but I am having a really hard time with guitar playing. I do truly love to play, and I understand I am not very good. That is not relevant. To help motivate me, I signed up for lessons, my first one is next Fri morning.

Fact checked true. There was a Newfie on a 747 and the Captain announced they had lost an engine. The Captain said all was well but they would be 20 minutes behind scheduled landing. A while later, the Captain came back and said “We lost a second engine and everything is fine but there will be an added 20 minute delay”. After the third engine failed the Captain announced “ All is well but because we only have one engine, we will be delayed by an hour. “. The Newfie turned to his seatmate and said “ I sure hope the last one don”t fail or we’ll be up here all night”!

We were invited to the wedding rehearsal dinner tonight. It’s at an Irish pub with about 25 people. I’m on my second Guinness. Ordering fish (haddock) and chips for supper. Tomorrow at 9:00 is brunch with JtM and Silent Doug. Son of Parsnip is going golfing afterwards with Doug and members of the wedding party. Chill all day with the puppies then dinner with LAJ. Saturday chill until 3:00 then drive up to the wedding venue that starts at 4:00. Drive back to Virginia on Sunday.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm kind of eager to see who shows up tomorrow!

…and lest you guys think I’m never on the receiving end… There’s a bit in the Myster Science Theater movie where one of the characters has a manual for something and sets it aside. Servo says “Ah, I’ll just read this on the crapper”. It’s been a running gag here. We got some sort of thing with “some assembly required”. I tossed the manual aside and said that. Later on, I went in the bathroom and guess what was sitting on the toilet seat? 🤨

My son spent three weeks with 25 NASA astronauts a couple years ago teaching them to use their suits and subs as training for their NEEMO project. After his three weeks I asked him what they were like as people because they all lived, worked and ate together as a group. (Because if it was me, not gonna lie, I'd be as arrogant as hell if I was an astronaut) He said they are as a group some of the most amazing people he had ever met. Smart, caring, kind, team oriented, and welcoming. He said they were like a group of super-humans. They were telling him some of the selection process is just a massive personality test to see how they interact with others. He really enjoyed his time with them. He laughed when one of the astronauts said "You have a really cool job", and Jared said 'You've been to the ISS and you think my job is cool?" Three weeks after his time with them he got a call from the NASA recruiter talking to him about the application process and what he would need to do to apply because they all thought he would be a good fit for the program, personality and brain-power wise(takes after his mom, not me)

Dr. Smith was truly a problem on the Jupiter II. He wasn't really selected and trained by the space program though.

And while Major Nelson was relatively sane except for when Jeanie was messing with him, Major Healy was a bit immature.

Friday night...motorcycle shop party Saturday...I'm judging a motorcycle show Sunday....the American Legion post 149 fund raising. It the only day the across the street is open. Also on Sunday we will be loading up the motorhome because Monday morning we are leaving on a trip.

I was going to put on Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys singing "Liquor and Whores" but I like Aire too much to do that to her thread. I love sitting by an isolated mountain lake, knowing you are the only one there, listening to the Loons call in the still morning air. I love being underwater, seeing critters we don't usually see in their natural environment. I love when these two rascals ... .... decide to face time with me in the middle of a crazy day to tell me something completely random that they felt I needed to know right away.

I am glad someone had the sense to use the chocks.

One of my "offers" on my store card for BigY grocery store was a free $7.99 rotisserie chicken of 32 ounces. Along with a $0.99 lb Purdue Chicken Roaster and a pork loin, butter and other stuff on sale I saved 25% of what would have been a $100 shopping trip. I always go through the sale flyer, my offers and the coupons while making up the grocery list. Being retired, I have the time and the need to save some money.

That’s what I told Judie. While we were having breakfast Jax pulled Oogie’s dog bed out of his crate and tore it up. Judie said she better go buy him a new bed. That is where she is now. I think she is torn between keeping him or not.

The fact that I have a virtual water cooler in my pocket that almost always has people around it driveling.

I am going to drive twenty minutes to practice giving Otto a syringe of sedating medication. We are practicing with chicken broth. I need to be able to get a very small amount of the real medicine between his check and gum on Tuesday. He tolerates it at home. Need to try the vet’s office. More about this later when I have time to explain.

I just about had Judie convinced to keep Oggie and then blackie showed up and chaos ensued. Judie is looking to rehome Oogie. It’s anyone’s guess if she will succeed. I would like to keep him. He is adorable and makes me laugh. I just posted a video on FB.

4/25/24. 51.3 miles on the group ride this morning. Also 2500 ft of elevation gain

17.1 miles on the road bike. I could have ridden further, but when I reached down for my water bottle, it wasn't there for some reason.

I blame the feral cats, they told the dogs I’m an easy mark.
