Ralphie Posted April 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2019 Finally got it planted. Bibb, mesclun mix, red romaine (cue Peter Gabriel song in head), red sails, iceberg, two kinds of arugula, and Joi Choi, a new thing for me. I may have overdone it. Aboot 4 x 16 worth!
Square Wheels Posted April 14, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 14, 2019 There was nothing we could do to keep the deer out. I'm so lucky we have a greenhouse.

Road Runner Posted April 14, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 14, 2019 That stuff looks like the weeds I am always pulling from my lawn. You should plant some dandelions.

I am lucky that this light fence seems to keep most critters oot. We don't get deers. I think they stay across the street in the woods.

donkpow Posted April 14, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2019 Those greens look ready to eat, if you ask me. I was at the home center earlier today. The want $3.78 for one romaine lettuce plant. I planted 2 packs of mesclun for $2.88 a few weeks ago.

The curly leafed stuff was great, as was the endive and all the reds like red romaine and red sails. Yup, still doing it, had a great lettuce year last year and hope to again this year.
