Good news first. Mom and two boys have been homeless and couch surfing for about four months. They finally got an apartment and moved in today. Bad news. No food. None. DSS was supposed to bring her a food card but did not today I am sure it will come Monday. No stove or fridge. She has a hot plate. I asked on my food helper list to see if anyone had an old cooler I could take. I will get peanut butter and bread and jelly. What else?1 point

Yeah they drafted an edge & DT, what I hoped they’d address. We are a bit thin at RB after Kyren Williams so it made sense.1 point

What I have noticed, not in this forum but another forum, is other folks who want to appear smart or clever, say the least amount. Then later you learn, they aren't particularily well-read or espouse a very strong extreme opinion. But they appear brilliant initially, because they say a couple of words but don't back up their words with an example or explanation. They refuse to link to sources of info. espousing same strong opinion or evidence...especially on something they never even personally experienced at all. One needs to be careful of such folks on serious topics ie. health, politics, finances, etc. It's pretty terrible to see. A guy who has never been a father of babies and young children started verbally, but politely hammering away on a father of 2 young children, why he couldn't organize his toddler children properly according to time schedule often. Yea, sure. What a clueless. Must be kid who never pees accidentally on their pants at wrong time, never screams, never lost something (ie. a shoe/mitten) or didn't pay attention to daddy.1 point

Bread, tuna packets, instant oatmeal, canned spaghetti and meatballs, fruit, peanut butter some silverware to eat it all with and a couple of pots to heat it and boil water. Paper plates and bowls or a small set of plastic dishes to be reused.1 point

Are you good at self-motivation? I usually am, but I am having a really hard time with guitar playing. I do truly love to play, and I understand I am not very good. That is not relevant. To help motivate me, I signed up for lessons, my first one is next Fri morning.1 point

Some photos. One of the steep climbs where folks would help others get to the top: Rolling past the Iwo Jima memorial: I rode with her quite a few times. She dug deep in the climbs. You might recognize him from the movie Battleship And a few of the other types of recumbents. The guy in red would FLY down hills hoping for some momentum on the way back up. I chatted with this woman about her "ugly" bike - an older Univega steel triple with a very tight cassette. I man-splained she could definitely go with a wider cassette. Boxed in on a climb as those two guys were well ahead of me until they started slowing and GCN guy started weaving.1 point

My friends back in Grand Island were sharing rain totals for the last 24 hours of 4-5 inches. They desperately need it, but that’s a lot all at once.1 point

Waiting to get it back from the luthier who is setting it up. I expect it to sound better than my EC - 256, hopefully better than my PRS Custom SE 24. I'll update you after I get it back this weekend.1 point

My son spent three weeks with 25 NASA astronauts a couple years ago teaching them to use their suits and subs as training for their NEEMO project. After his three weeks I asked him what they were like as people because they all lived, worked and ate together as a group. (Because if it was me, not gonna lie, I'd be as arrogant as hell if I was an astronaut) He said they are as a group some of the most amazing people he had ever met. Smart, caring, kind, team oriented, and welcoming. He said they were like a group of super-humans. They were telling him some of the selection process is just a massive personality test to see how they interact with others. He really enjoyed his time with them. He laughed when one of the astronauts said "You have a really cool job", and Jared said 'You've been to the ISS and you think my job is cool?" Three weeks after his time with them he got a call from the NASA recruiter talking to him about the application process and what he would need to do to apply because they all thought he would be a good fit for the program, personality and brain-power wise(takes after his mom, not me)1 point

The only place I have to learn to fly it is off the dock at Lake Fancy Pants. How long before I wish I had bought a remote control boat instead?1 point
