MickinMD ★ Posted March 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2021 I just read an ABC News article: Average US price of gas up 25 cents a gallon to $2.89 Only getting gas every 2-5 weeks on avg, I was surprised last week to pay $2.589/gal at Costco, whose prices are usually 10-15 cents cheaper than anywhere else locally. I keep track of gas mileage for fuelly.com and fueleconomy.gov and the last time I paid more was $2.598 on July 31, 2019. I paid between $2.319 and $2.459 at Costco and non-Costco pumps in Jan. and Feb. Last year, after $2.449 in January 2020, I paid between $1.599 and $2.319 over the last 11 months of 2020. Maryland gasoline tax is $0.367/gal, not including the $0.184 federal gas tax.

maddmaxx ★ Posted March 14, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 14, 2021 I blame jsharr and the shut down refineries in Texas that couldn't handle a little cold weather.
Square Wheels Posted March 14, 2021 Share #7 Posted March 14, 2021 Up about 80 cents over the past few months. At this pave it will be $5 a gallon soon. Shoulda bought a Tesla
TrentonMakes Posted March 14, 2021 Share #8 Posted March 14, 2021 The station outside our neighborhood is getting $2.89 for regular. Yes, it's been climbing... but I'm working from home 3 days a week and hardly going anywhere else... getting gas probably once a month. Not a huge hit. Further Posted March 14, 2021 Share #9 Posted March 14, 2021 I fill the Element about every 2 weeks, 12 to 13 gallons. It was 20 some dollars, now it is 30 some heading toward 40 some. I could cut back on driving, but don't really feel the pain yet.

I was still driving 30 miles one way to work.

Me too, except I had a company car with gas card! I haven’t gotten gas recently but it’s pushing $4 out here now.
petitepedal ★ Posted March 15, 2021 Share #12 Posted March 15, 2021 I would say it has gone up about 30cents or so a gallon since the Yexas cold spell
