sheep_herder ★ Posted December 31, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted December 31, 2017 We are currently at -15F with a wind chill of -35F. Be nice if it would stay that way for the rest of the night, but I fear it will get colder.

It is the same direction but zoomed beyond the Main Street Grind. You can see the movie theater in the next block.

smudge ★ Posted December 31, 2017 Share #16 Posted December 31, 2017 Note to self: don't bother checking this camera at 7:51 am eastern time during winter months. (black screen) Maybe it didn't load? Or do you folks turn the street lights off after 9pm?

The local place that I always do it wasn’t doing the plunge this year do to demolition going on and the parking lot not being available. The closest place I could find is a 45 minute drive. My wife invited my son and all the kids over on NYD and they didn’t know if they would be back from Va. and feel up to it. If the kids are coming I’ll skip the plunge. I bought a new speedo for the plunge but I can still wear it for swimming laps.

Moving to Montana is a frequent fantasy for us east coasters. Usually when we are stuck in traffic jams.

Simple pleasures of life, I suppose. Well, before they moved the camera location, it mainly focused on the Main Street Grind, a coffee and bakery. At one time the folks here imagined various stories about some of the Grind's patrons, even giving them names. I've gone down and waved to the folks a few times, even during the bucking horse parade. Krazy and family even visited me in Miles City, and I think the first place they visited was the Grind. I try to let folks know of different events happening in town and how that might affect the views they will be seeing. One just has to be patient with black screens, and although cafes, etc. close at 9:00pm, bars and casinos remain open until 2:00am. It is interesting to see traffic on our road after the 2:00am closing.

Kirby Posted December 31, 2017 Share #28 Posted December 31, 2017 Sheep_herder described it well. We used to imagine all sorts of activities at the Grind, and the various parades and dances on Main Street are always fun. But they have a habit of changing the angle of the camera and confusing us. I prefer to stick with the Grind with a slight view of the jewelry store and pharmacy.
