Razors Edge Posted January 14, 2020 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2020 You were no Win XP nor Win 10, but you definitely were better than Vista or 8!
Ralphie Posted January 14, 2020 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2020 Low bar indeed! I am amazed I never smashed the windows 8 laptop! And I am a patient guy! And I was stuck with vista before that! Grrr! And Millennium before that! And an early version of xp that got wiped oot somehow, despite having antivirus on it.

Indy Posted January 14, 2020 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2020 I don't know, I would put Windows 7 up there. I used it for a long time and never had an issue with it. I always found it stable and easy to use myself. Though I am impressed how well my old laptop runs on Windows 10. Windows 8 was an abomination.

Windows 8 was an abomination. I have it as XP at the top (my sentimental favorite) then Win 10, then Win 7, then maybe flavors of NT (which I used at work but not at home) and then the rest are down the list a distance like 8/8.1 (which I barely used), and Millenium or Vista. 98 was fine for back then, and 95 or the 3.1 Win were all at least "revolutionary" in a fast evolving world. That said, I would not run ANYTHING (in the Windows world) except Win 10 nowadays.
donkpow Posted January 14, 2020 Share #9 Posted January 14, 2020 Windows 7 Pro was 'da bomb'. Windows 7 Home Premium was 'da boom'.

12string Posted January 14, 2020 Share #15 Posted January 14, 2020 I thought I was so cool to be running 3.1 before everyone else. Some people just refused to make that leap. A mouse click to open files?! I have an XP machine at home. I really should kill it, but it's got a ton of audio recording and mixing stuff on it
