2Far ★ Posted August 8, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2017 I was supposed to get my stitches out on Wednesday, but I have a big all-day customer shindig about 60 miles away. The doc's office is closed Thursday and Friday. He says if I'm not worried about extra scarring, it can wait until Monday. Otherwise, I need to go to a doc in the box on Thursday & have them remove them. Alternatively, I could take them out. Wo2 has volunteered as well.
tybeegb Posted August 8, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 8, 2017 Well, if it was me, I would bite a bullet and yank 'em out. Or, get Wof2Far to slowly cut them out delicately so as to not cause any undue pain.

smudge ★ Posted August 8, 2017 Share #9 Posted August 8, 2017 I've seen husband's stitches and Staples removed numerous times. Then he gets an outrageous bill. Have your Mrs. do it.

If this place hasn't scarred you already you'll be fine. Yank those puppies put, throw a little neosporin on the site, and cover it up for a day or two. Prophet Zacharia Posted August 8, 2017 Share #17 Posted August 8, 2017 A.) I don't think waiting will result in more scaring. The scaring was a result of the growth of new tissue at the wound site, a good suturing job would have minimized that. Leaving the sutures in longer shouldn't affect that issue. B.) I'd remove them myself. Cut the string on one side of the knot, then pull the knot. THe closer you cut to the skin, the less thread you have to pull through the wound.
