MickinMD ★ Posted March 23, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2020 Here's an email I got this morning: 2020 Annual Meeting: Members are welcome to join Dave Sweiderk, SECU’s President and CEO, and the SECU Board of Directors at our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 4 pm. The Meeting will take place at the Hilton BWI Airport Hotel, 1739 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090. SECU Members in good standing, with accounts opened under their own SSNs or business EINs, are invited to attend to learn about our achievements in 2019 and plans for 2020. You would think that a company named State Employees Credit Union of Maryland would have a good idea there's going to be NO large gathering in a Maryland hotel four weeks from now! The food waste will be enormous, so if you bring a bunch of tupperware, you ought to be able to score lunches for a month!
ChrisL Posted March 23, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 23, 2020 I had planned to attend a couple of conferences that got pushed out to August. Nothing industry related is scheduled for April through July. No face to face work meetings for a couple of weeks now but most of the campus is vacant anyway. Popular Post Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted March 23, 2020 Popular Post Share #6 Posted March 23, 2020 Your question implied (incorrectly) that I was invited to large gatherings prior to the current pandemic. i was socially distancing before it was cool. 1 2

If I survive this (not all of us will), then I still have bills to pay and a retirement to plan for. So yes.
