I went to a local guitar center just before the Pandemic and played guitars they had priced up to $2500. Below $800 the sound quality and the fretboard action - ease of play and finger motion - decreased as the price decreased. But $800 was a lot closer to $2500 than $200 was to $800. Today, there are definitely diminishing returned for acoustic guitars beyond $2000. I haven't played for a long time, losing two guitars and a banjo in my house fire.
