Randomguy Posted February 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2018 I am a clean person. I shower every day, often twice in the summer. I launder and wear clean clothes. After traveling to and fro, I have wrinkled shirts that I must wear. I also don't iron, but that is another topic. Anyway, I have been steaming these shirts as I shower to dewrinkleize them. When I hung a couple of shirts this morning for this purpose, I noticed RING AROUND THE COLLAR! Maybe it was the light or the steam that made this more apparent, but I am aghast, as anyone would be. The shirts were whiteish/lightish in color, btw. Does dry cleaning eliminate this, or would standard laundry be better? The laundry would press the shirts either way, so that isn't a factor. I am wondering if the dry cleaning chemicals that lingered would make it more difficult for this ring to adhere in the future, does that make sense? What is to be done? pedalphile Posted February 13, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2018 Cities are dirty places. Moving out to the country eliminates this problem.
donkpow Posted February 13, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2018 The t-shirts I use for cycling have a brown stain all around the back of the neck. It's very embarrassing. It turns out that my sunscreen and sweat work together to discolor the fabric.
Dirtyhip Posted February 13, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 13, 2018 Having to wear a suit must be somewhat of a burden. I feel lucky that the place I work allows us to dress very casually. I can get by on a very simple wardrobe.

Wilbur ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 13, 2018 Embrace your ring around the collar and appreciate the miracle of healthy human lungs. Cities are filthy places. Now, removable collars look pretty genius don't they? Try this, http://dirtclerk.com
jsharr ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 13, 2018 You need to wear a ring around the collar prevention device that isolates your filthy neck from your clean shirt.
Razors Edge ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Share #9 Posted February 13, 2018 Throw them out and start fresh! Actually, use them as rags or maybe you can rip them up and give them to a animal shelter for bedding? Tom
Longjohn ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Share #10 Posted February 13, 2018 Stop eating the Tide Pods and use them in the wash with your shirts, no more ring around the collar.

Ralphie ★ Posted February 14, 2018 Share #12 Posted February 14, 2018 I would say get them dry cleaned every once in a while - they come out so nicely pressed. And also once in a while use wisk arond the collar or a stain stick and that will help too.

You might consider wearing darker colors.
