so I went out in the woods after work today. It's first week of archery season here, and one of my favorite times to be in the woods. There's no guns going off yet and the animals are still relaxed. You get to see things you don't get to see later in the season. so this evening I was on a small hill with a creek behind me on the other side of the hill and a deep draw about 50 yards in front. I found a big game trail, I mean big like this is a deer hiway, last month right through this spot and I'm 20 yards off of it with the wind blowing across me from the trail. The suns setting in that direction too, which isn't the best, but the wind is all you really need to see animals. At dusk a make a deer grunt noise and in about 10 minutes 3 doe are moving up the draw strait to my front. It's really pretty neat to be out in the woods and be a part of the scene to the point that big animals start walking right towards you. The deer are picking their way through the woods parallel to the trail and just to the other side of me. At 30 yards she must have caught wind of me, but this time of year she didn't just bolt. They really wanted to come through this way, so she and the other two behind her cautiously continue toward me. Then I saw her do something I had never seen before. There was a tree a little more than half way between me and her. She stopped. She's staring dead at me and I'm still as anything. She looks to one side of the tree, then the other. She is looking to see if I have moved. I haven't. She does it some more, three, four times. I only have a buck tag, so I still haven't moved. She takes a step forward We are now fully in the same clearing. I'm not in full archery hunting gear or anything like that. I'm just sitting there on the ground on a tree seat with my pack and quiver leaned up on the tree beside me. Then I got to hear a deer sound I didn't even know they could make...it was like "EEEK" and they all three ran off like...well...spooked deer!

A salesman is lost in a rural area and stops at a farm to get directions. As he is talking to the farmer he notices a pig with a wooden leg. "How did the pig get a wooden leg?", he asks the farmer. "Well", says the farmer, "that is a very special pig. One night not too long ago we had a fire start in the barn. "Well, sir, that pig set up a great squealing that woke everyone, and by the time we got there he had herded all the other animals out of the barn and saved everyone of them." "And that was when he hurt his leg?" asked the salesman. "Oh no" says the farmer. "He was fine after that. Though a while later I was in the woods out back and a bear attacked me. Well, sir, that pig was near by and he came running and set on that bear and chased him off. Saved me for sure." "So the bear injured his leg then," says the salesman. "Oh no. He came away without a scratch from that. Though a few days later my tractor turned over in a ditch and I was knocked unconscious. Well, that pig dove into the ditch and pulled me out before I drowned." "So he hurt his leg then?" asks the salesman. "Oh no," says the farmer. "So how did he get the wooden leg?" the salesman asks. "Well", the farmer tells him, "When you have a pig like that, you don't want to eat him all at once."

I have a thousand points of fear. They come from every direction. For years, I used to drink them away. It was an easy solution to a complex problem. As I became sober, I worked on peeling away the onion with the help of others. One by one, I worked on those fears with the help from a new faith. Those fears still exist but I try to tackle them differently now. As soon as I recognize I'm in a fearful state, I contact others around me to help me get through it. Loved ones, my girl, my dog and a set of instructions provided from groups that deal with this thing called, "Life". I've become happy, joyous and free for the most part as a result. Couch

Well, I have used a bag to wander out to the garden to pick things for a salad. So I guess it's bagged salad. Sauce is jarred and stored in the basement every fall.

I got banned on the LF early this year because I infuriated the religious do-nothings, but I didn't realize I was banned until about 3 weeks later. Busy season at work. Effectively it was about a 2 week ban. I was trying to remember what the problem was because for the longest time, I just didn't notice the message from Bpbikes in the fine gray line on the login attempt screen. Just didn't see it, lol. So I kept trying to login day after day, not noticing that there was a tiny message there. I figured the site was down for maintenance. I was rolling with another profile for the longest time one year and nobody ever noticed it. Two guys sometimes arguing the same things...lol. I initiated one thread where I argued with myself, and still nobody noticed even though the majority of the LF chimed in at various points.

Yes, I will miss Charlie and Couch. They are always a lot of fun. Maybe this conflict will sort itself out in some manner, and they can return. I hope so.

most people don't know what their granddad even did for a living my mom's family is Irish and thier family history actually goes back the the 11th century Of the recent stuff, my great-great-great-great granddad, John Doyle, was a privateer. During the War of 1812 he was running the English blockade and was named a pirate by the Royal Navy. They chased him to the shoals off the Amazon, where he eluded them and dumped his illegal cargo. he then picked his way back up to Philadelphia, where he sold his ship. Brilliant, really. He went from being a wanted man on the high seas to an Irishman in Philadelphia with a pocket full of cash He bought a bunch of land in what is now the city of Philadelphia My grandma told me of our Uncle Alph who inhertited the property. It was housing tenements by the early 1900s and Alph was a sort of philanthropist. There's all sorts of stories in the family about his charity to the people who lived inhis buildings. Anyway, when Alph died, he was unmarried and childless and so he gave the property to all of the people who lived in his buildings as thier permenent home and their personal property. That was the end of our ownership of the land John Doyle bought with the money from his ship in 1812

Sometimes mechanical projects go better if you drink the beer after the project is done. I learned this a long time ago when I rebuilt the brakes on my 63 Olds. Wasn't too bad, car was still up on jack stands when I discovered I had left out all of the wheel cylinder pistons when I rebuilt the wheel cylinders.

Did you find the dead pig wrapped in a blanket?

We have family friends who adopted a Vietnamese potbelly pig as a pet back when it was the rage 15 years ago. Since they were idiots, they didn't know the pig they were getting wasn't a cute little Vietnamese potbelly pig, instead it was just your generic farm pig. It grew to about 300 pounds. There were restrictions on the types of pets one was allowed to own where they lived so they had to keep it indoors. The pig crapped everywhere and their trailer smelled like pig crap. We stopped visiting them around this time. The pig started busting through the walls of their trailer so they had to get rid of it. They ended up giving it to a farm. I think his name was Sampson and I am sure he was very tender.

Pretty easy to resize. Open with "paint" (should be basic program on your computer/ you can right click on pic and chose "open with paint") click resize click pixels enter value in either horizontal or vertical depending (eg 200 /I forget what the max avatar is here) hit ok and voila
