  1. I hope it works out. now you just have to see if you can buy all the parcels between your potential new house and your new land.

  2. We calibrate our bikes on the computrainers and info on age a weight are added for calculations. We do some warm up spinning, sprints, recover and when we're ready begin a 20 minute effort. Not super hard, just what you think you can hold for 20 minutes. Stats are displayed on the wall, time, cadence, watts, and FTP, functional threshold of power. This measurement is supposed to tell you what your watt output would be over an hour from a 20 minute sample. My FTP is 232 with a max watt of 352. Average cadence was 97 with an max of 108 average speed was 21.16, 7.05 miles Average HR was 153 with a max of 168 We'll repeat this every four weeks to gauge progress with a final in March.

  4. So, I was sitting out in front of the house handing out candy like I usually do on Halloween, when a mom and a boy about 8 years old stopped by. His costume was not expensive and seemed painfully shy, but was fascinated with my laptop (I was working on my book). The mom and I commented on how low the traffic was tonight, so I told the boy I would be closing up at 8 o'clock. If he came back, he could have whatever was left. When 8 rolled around, they pulled up to the house and he got out. I still had half of my candy left, so I dumped it in his bag. His eyes bugged out of his head and he asked, "That's a lot! Are you sure you don't want to keep some?" "No, I shouldn't be eating it, and a deal is a deal. I said I'd give you whatever's left." "Are you really sure?" "Yes, share it with your friends." "I only have one friend. His name is Adrain." He hugged me and ran back to the car. His mom got out and came over to me. She said he talked about me all night while they were going around the neighborhood and he couldn't wait to come back. She also said I didn't know just how special that hug was, as he never touches anyone. It melted my heart. I don't what prompted me to make the deal with this kid, but I'm glad I did. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

  6. Since we are on a tighter budget, w will not be buying any new bikes this season. The Stumpy for 2018 hasn't changed, except for making it plus compatible and changing the paint scheme. I do love the paint scheme, but meh. My old seek is reliable and trusty. The CX bike still excites me. My plus bike is still like new. The kids bike is pretty timeless, so nothing to change there. I will be swapping over my cranks from my Fuse over to my Stumpy. The cranks on my Fuse are 170, and my Stumpy is 175. The BB on the Fuse is higher from the ground, and I don't schralp that like I do with Brutus. I am tired of the pedal strikes. When my suspension compresses, my crank arm gets too close to the ground. I believe that a crank swap will fix this issue. I do have to buy a new chainring, because the pattern is different. Also, I need to replace a chain or two and check out a couple of headsets. All these fixes will be inexpensive this year.

  7. I had a LAJ for a while but we had to let him go; untrainable. I had RG for a week. Does that count? Other than that nothing.

  9. I think we've just about always had a cat or two. Most were rescues of some kind or just sort of adopted us. We're down to one, pictured below. She's a triple rescue. She was adopted out of the pound by Do2's roommate around 2010. The roommate was killed in a car wreck in 2012 and stayed with Do2 and the evil ex until they broke up in 2015. Do2 called to tell us that evil ex was neglecting the cat so Wo2 & I performed an extraction op SEAL Team 6 would have been proud of.

  10. i like most animals, but cats fit with my irregular work hours better than a dog. I'm actually allergic, and was sure I'd never have a cat, until a sweet stray (pictured below) started hanging around my apartment. I vowed it wasn't coming in, but then the apartment manager said she'd have to call animal control if nobody took the cat in. So I had my first cat. When she died I adopted a cat from a shelter, and my current cat was another stray that hung around my apartment until he finally adopted me by showing up badly cut and injured. I had overlapping cats briefly and they just tolerated one another - no fighting, but they weren't really friends. However, I do know some people who have multiple cats that have really bonded and keep one another company.

  19. So my buddy, lets call him call him Dave, cause that's his name. He's not old, he's reasonably healthy, limp dick shouldn't be an issue. But it had been a long weekend, there had been some girls, (did I mention Dave has the restraint of a buck in rut) and now it was Sunday. The plumbing was getting tired. But there was still a willing girl in reach. Well Dave had some Viagra, it was a bit out of date but what the hell. Twenty minutes later one pill hadn't done shit. They were out of date, and he had a whole bottle, fuck it, three more. So Dave had himself a four day boner. I asked what he did about it. "Well, I didn't shower at work for a few days"

  20. We haven't had a lunch post in a while. Maybe you're tired of them. I ate unhealthy today for a change but it was for a good cause. Thursday's I meet with a third grader at the local elementary school. His name is Miguel and he's a good kid. Today was meeting number two so not as awkward as the first meeting. To break the ice I went to McDonalds and got him some chicken nuggets and a small fries. I got two burgers and small fries. Nice surprise for lunch when you're 8 years old. He had a bagel in his brown bag. I couldn't tell if there was anything on it but it looked like a plan bagel. He appreciated the chicken, the other kids were jealous. I told him not to get used to the idea. This won't be every week. We played Jenga. This will be good. The teachers are hot. But old enough to be my daughter. ?

  26. My dad was very concerned that what he could't use could be used by others. He demanded that we not bury him in one of his suits because someone else could us it. His dress stuff is going to go to a mission store and I have in my mind that some homeless person will use the suit for an interview and that will be the start of a new life for him and his family (that's my vision).

  29. Now listen up Sweetpants.....it seems that I've got to say what everyone is thinking....so all this stuff about bikes....I mean at your advanced age shouldn't you be thinking of packing it in. You know...doing something that avoids scabby knees and such.....something womanly and fitting. Quilt-making sounds pretty good as does shopping for exotic underwear and gabbing with the girls over coffee. I'm not sure why I have to give you the goods here rather than a female forumite but I say this for your own good....oh yes...I just know that you're going to thank me.

  42. I like cats and apparently they like me. I have had several customers amazed their cat would just walk right up to me when it wouldn’t come out for family, or in one instance, the spouse. This is Meeka. 7 pounds of ninja fury! She would have killed a 16 pound tomcat if I hadn’t saved his life! Pretty sweet most of the time, though. I am her human of choice. WoW says she acts like a jealous girlfriend!
