  1. I think we would need a GoFundMe to pay for the psychiatrist who treats the psychoanalyst who has to listen to RG.

  3. So, a few years ago when I started running, 3 miles was a real stretch for how far I could handle. Over the years. that's increased a lot. Last Saturday I did 13.25 on hills (2600 feet of elevation). I wanted to do a half marathon since I've never done one. I was supposed to be tapering and only doing 8. I think my coach was upset. Over the past 6 months or so, my coach has made my weeks more and more gruelling. Now this tapering stuff is making me feel like a wimp. A typical run was 6 - 8 miles. Now it's 3 or 4. They used to include intervals, now they are just slow runs. Rides were hard, sometimes really hard. Always with intervals, often beyond what I thought I was capable of. I am doing the Mt. Washington run for my third consecutive year, it's June 16, the day before my birthday. Last year it was on my birthday. I'm a little nervous because it's honestly impossible to describe how hard it is, but I'm also excited.

  4. For RG’s psychoanalysis? A couple of hours a week of free association in a controlled office setting, instead of on the internet?

  5. If you can wait until she's done with her Katy Trail adventure, I'm sure Petite will help you find a new truck. New, used, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, red, blue.... you can't make up you mind. She can help.

  9. 4.81 at camp on the fattie. Let my niece ride the skinny. We rode to Black River Falls and then explored the falls and woods. She's a city kid from Mesa, AZ and once a year gets to play in the woods in the Yoop. This year she learned about downed trees that are over half rotted. She thought it was fun! I told her she was being a bear tearing apart that tree, but she didn't want to eat the ants she discovered in the tree. Kids nowadays!

  16. Did two pull ups without the band today. Talk about hitting a goal by the skin of my teeth. I wanted to hit it by Summer. I did fail on the bench press 100#s. 70 still feels heavy and I have learned a valuable lesson about pushing through pain. Now, I ramp carefully.

  17. I think this is easily explained. As you get older, each year is a smaller percentage of your life span. When I was 40, the previous 20 years was half my life, and seemed like a very long time. Now that I'm 60 something, the last 20 years seems like a blip.

  27. Finally got around to changing my quite worn old cleats and pedals. WAY too worn. My whole body position is changed! The show wedges are back in play, heel is no longer flopping....... And I almost forgot what it was like to be actually connected, not bouncing around in the pedal........

  33. So, I called Geico on Monday, and they said they would have to do an investigation, as there may be shared liability based on statements from the other driver. I supplied Geico with the police report stating the other driver failed to yield right of way and was cited for such, as well as the state of Texas accident report and photos of the damages to both vehicles. Geico called today to take my recorded statement. In less than one hour they took 100% responsibility. They are having my truck towed to one of their inspection / repair facilities, where I am almost certain it will be found to be too expensive to repair. I owe much less than it is worth, so I should walk away with a decent check to buy a new truck, or maybe buy a clean used truck and save some $$$ every month. I go to Enterprise tonight to pick up the truck that Geico is renting for me. I was told it was probably going to be a Dodge. The truck I was driving to go camping is a Ford owned by a close friend and neighbor. He is from Australia but lives in Texas and runs the US side of a cotton import / export business. He is in China for two weeks and then heading to Australia, so I have been driving his truck, the Yank Tank. It was filty, as his wife uses it to rescue stray doggies that we help foster. Martha is staying at their house with the doggies while they are in Austrailia (pronouced "Straylia" by they way).

  37. This song always brings back memories for me. We had a local place that had live music every night. One of the bands had a flute player and they played this song a lot. It was really fun to dance to. I had really long brown hair, bell bottoms, wild shirts, and a school teacher dance partner with long blonde hair. We had so much fun dancing to this song. Eventually I met my wife (not there) and fell in love. My wife doesn’t dance so that was the end of that. I have no regrets, I have had an awesome life. Just had a lot of old memories flash back when this song played this morning.

  40. No food tastes as good as being not as fat feels (modified slightly from the original ). I am only down ~5 pounds, but it feels wonderful so far. It also shows how a little progress is addictive. Plus eating a veggie heavy diet makes me happy. (It Shirley hurts to cut down on beer, though, being the nectar of the Gods and all. )
