I guess there are not very many vowel combinations that have E near the end.  And only a few words with ee.

Based on the letters that I had eliminated after my second word, doubling the E and going for cheek seemed the most likely solution at that point.  :unsure:

But you're right, the human brian may be smarter than it looks.  :D

Just sayin' that K is a relatively rare letter, except that I guess there are a good number of words that end in K or CK.  CH on the other hand, is a very frequent go-to for me.

This is why I wish everyone would show their work.  It is interesting to see how people decipher the clues.  The little boxes are useless data.

I agree, but based on the letter you have (E) and the more common consonants and vowels that have already been denied, letters like K become much more plausible and selectable.  :)

That was the lucky part. I’d already ruled out -ea.
