BuffJim Posted August 21, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 21, 2017 I was unable to get glasses. Waited in line with over 1000 people at a local college, but they only had 500 to give away, and I wasn't one of the lucky ones. It's either blindness or watch it on RR's lame website.

Needs lots of fuel for that maneuver.

Kirby Posted August 21, 2017 Share #13 Posted August 21, 2017 We all went out to the patio at work and watched for about 15 minutes. You could see the path of the moon, but it didn't get very dark since we wren't in the path of totality.
maddmaxx ★ Posted August 21, 2017 Share #14 Posted August 21, 2017 I'm watching the window aboard a cruise ship in the Bermuda Triangle (via CNN). I wonder if, when the light comes back, there will be any passengers

I saw in the Business Journal that the eclipse is supposed to cause a 74 million dollar loss in productivity today.

I can see that, assuming people weren't otherwise just shopping on the internet at work. 1

It did not seem to affect business as usual here. What about all the tourism dollars poured into the economy by all the hippies invading the path of totality and the post hippie invasion clean up? Has to offset some of that loss, no?
