petitepedal ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2019 Well...as far as I am concerned it has...ground is still snow covered and some of the mountains of snow at parking lots remain way above my head.. BUT...I washed my comforter and I am taking off the flannel sheets Life is good... I also managed to take down the evergreens from my deck railing....they were dry and no longer snow filled!!

Still opportunities to buy in Hawaii! Avoid the ice and snow nonsense next year, and live blissfully ever after.
Ralphie ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2019 But have the crocuses croaked? THAT is the real question.
Kirby Posted March 17, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2019 You can tell when spring officially arrives because that's when my allergies kick off. 1

Dottleshead ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #6 Posted March 17, 2019 Spring is definitely here. It's like somebody flipped the switch. Cold snap for all of February and half this month -- temps below freezing at night -- and then whamo. A 10 degree jump.
Longjohn ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 17, 2019 We had snow off and on all day yesterday but they days are supposed to get above freezing in the daytime this week.
smudge ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #8 Posted March 17, 2019 Definitely transition time here. Lots of snow to melt, and it all seems to run through our storage barn.

Guest Posted March 17, 2019 Share #11 Posted March 17, 2019 Still 3-4 feet of snow on the ground but the red-winged black birds are back and have seen a few flicks of snow geese headed north.
smudge ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #12 Posted March 17, 2019 This was my playtime project yesterday. I was hoping for an avalanche, but too much ice. I had to chop at it. Then I stood on the doghouse to chop as far up the roof as I could reach. I tossed all the snow and ice away from the barn.

petitepedal ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Author Share #14 Posted March 17, 2019 We are still snow covered...colder the last 2 days to slow the melting..which helped some folks...but temps due to warm up again this week...Tuesday thru Thursday we lost about a foot of snow...but we got at least a foot and all those mounds from plowing left!
Ralphie ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #15 Posted March 17, 2019 Sneau? We had a very light year- had to shovel aboot twice I think. Usually it melted the next couple of days.
Razors Edge ★ Posted March 17, 2019 Share #16 Posted March 17, 2019 BWAHAHA. I have no vested interest in Hawaii (or even Florida) property sales, but man, a LOT of folks could do with using the next 9 months to prep their homes for sale and a trip to Kauai or the Big Island to suss out a new home. Poipu's temps for the next week or so:

My plan is that soon NJ's climate will be closer to FL's. I'll wait.
team scooter Posted March 17, 2019 Share #18 Posted March 17, 2019 Along with the robins, starlings and grackles, the red wings are back now too, chasing away the morning doves. <- Our girl has been on high bird alert all week.
ChrisL Posted March 17, 2019 Share #19 Posted March 17, 2019 I feel like a freaking Northerner right now. We went 6 weeks without ever hitting 70 and then bam low 80’s. It took a bit to adjust to the temp change. Rain forecasted for Wed & Thurs tho..
