  1. ... driving into the mountains for a week of ice dive training. Got to our wonderful lakeside log cabin just in time to make a wonderful dinner and now sit by the fire with some of my top-shelf colleagues and sip a nice rum. I do love my job......

  3. It's funny, Dad had retired about 10 years before my mom. He has a big 40'X80' pole barn. He had it for years without a furnace. He put a furnace in it the year my mom retired.

  7. The home nurse showed up at 11:30, as soon as he got here I told him I was sneaking out for groceries. I was home within 25 minutes of when the nurse left. My wife survived being on her own for 25 min., she took a nap.

  15. Decided to smoke a brisket since we had time, the weather wasn’t bad, and I remembered to thaw it! To make sure it got done at a decent time, I got up when WoW got up for her early morning nature call at 5:30 and got it in the smoker. I tweaked on the rub bit. I cut down the salt content and ground some dark roast coffee beans to add to it. I let it go a lot longer because my first attempts were a but underdone. This time it was only slightly overdone, but by no means dry. The coffee in the rub made the bark amazing! This was my 3rd brisket and I’m getting closer!

  16. Location? Unknown. Somewhere off the map. But Mrs is still smiling so its all good. Besides in Wisconsin, you're never lost as long as you have enough gas to get to a warm tavern for a cold beer. And the trails are holding up surprisingly well.

  18. Mine was my first. A BMW Bavaria 1972. It was my father’s car from new, I got it when I turned 16, and kept it until I was in my mid 30s. Put nearly a half million miles on it.

  41. Old gray. Basically its a last model year parts bin concoction to use up parts before the model change. And they called it a Sport Plus. Its a 2WD heavy duty 3/4 ton truck, with towing package, trans cooler etc, with the Sport wheels and body work. And then they added every conceivable luxury option available at the time it was built. It has the next generation's overachieving HO V8, and the only transmission they had handy that would fit the new motor and old style truck was the trans for the Hemi Charger or 300C. So if I 'give er', it will give me whiplash and break the tires loose when it shifts to second or third, but then shift like a luxury car at slower speeds. And its the only Dakota I've ever seen with those size tires. Like I said, it seems they were just clearing out their parts bins. At 16 years old she still runs and looks like new and it has just endeared itself to me from the start. I plan to drive it until they take my keys. But my son keeps telling me I need a new truck that has push button start, nav and bluetooth... Have I mentioned lately how much I love this little truck?
