This should have been a super easy project, but of course it wasn't. I ended up with three different head types on the screws, so I had to keep changing the driver bits. I tried going through the 2x6 then into the 4x4, but I couldn't hold the 4x4 tight enough to the 2x6. (Later, HoSmudge told me I needed to use clamps. Oh!) Had to move stuff to get the ladder in there at correct angles. Stripped out a screw head or two (HoSmudge taught me how to use vice grips to remove them.) So ya. Should have been a three minute project. It took longer. Anyway, the hook is up, it works great. After installation, went for a ride on the muddy, rutty, icy camp road. Thank goodness for large tires with low PSI.8 points

Sloopy is now 6 days old. 4 lbs 8 oz at 1 day. Yesterday she weighed 5 lbs 2 oz. I'm sure everyone here wishes they could gain weight that fast.7 points

Went out for a walk last night and came across this father and daughter. All she wanted to do was play catch with her dad All he wanted to do was make her run through drill after drill Inside, Outside, hitting spots. Poor girl was so confused but she was good at doing what he bitched about.7 points

This should have been a super easy project, but of course it wasn't. I ended up with three different lengths of the staples, so I had to keep changing the stapler's feed. I tried going through the 1x6 then into the 1x4, but I couldn't hold the 1x4 tight enough to the 1x6. (Later, WoRE told me I needed to use clamps. Duh!) Had to move stuff to get the sawhorse at correct angles. Missed a staple or two (WoRE taught me how to use needle nose pliers to remove them.) So ya. Should have been a three minute project. It took longer. Anyway, the mount is up, it looks great. After installation, went for a ride on the pristine and beautiful country roads. Thank goodness for narrow tires and Di2.6 points

Because instead of replacing the door switch on our ancient drier, I use a crutch, a footstool, and a block of wood to put enough pressure on it to to run.5 points

A lifelong friend of mine just got out of hospital in London. He took ill while there on business and just brushed the fatigue on jet-lag. 4 days later he was in hospital and on a ventilator for 10 days. He is 62 but a lifetime competitive soccer player. No other ailments. He said he was convinced he wasn't going to survive it.5 points

No higher than that wall is, from my experience you just have to convince them you don't want them to jump over it and they will jump over it for you.5 points

Three comments This appears directed at one or more people here. Not cool. Last I checked, you are neither a virologist, epidemiologist, or physician of any kind, so you're "clearing this up" for us is only a distillation of what you've read in the news. If the masks help at all, they are helping others, presumably not you, in case you're are contagious and asymptomatic. Don't assume that symptomatic people aren't still going out to do whatever they feel they have the right to. I've been pretty lenient with the posts as we're all stressed, but please don't try to cause more stress for some, even if it's only one.4 points

the masks for @Airehead's school are done and ready to ship tomorrow. We still have more material. We bought 9 yards of remnants at $1.99/yard instead of the regular price of $5.99. Made a total of 27 masks and used about 1/3 of the material.4 points

A lot of people on tv and in the world are making incredibly stupid declarations, decisions, policies, and inviting the unwashed masses to behave the same way, so I thought I would clear this up. First, a simple mask of any sort is an obstacle, not an impermeable barrier, and WILL PROVIDE A SMALL AMOUNT OF PROTECTION for yourself. You miserable dumbfucks need to realize that it is nowhere near as good as the fancypants masks, which ALSO DON'T PROVIDE 100% PROTECTION, just much more. How much more? Dunno, does anyone know exactly? Anyway, a simple obstacle does provide a small amount of protection for yourself and some more protection for others. Anyway, only an ignorant fuck would ignore reality and flounce around at larger dinner parties or allow children to have playdates or lick grocery carts. Also, only an ignorant fuck wouldn't at least see the value in wearing a mask to protect others (when grocery shopping, for instance), especially since many folks don't have ANY symptoms. You breath that shit out, other people can get it, no matter the long odds and no matter how unlikely it seems to you. Don't contribute to someone's death because you are ignorant dumbfuck. People who are dying have value beyond money to lots of folks. Don't be a dumbfuck.3 points

I never buy store bought cookies and unless the kids are home we never make them because I am weak to temptation and would eat them all and be as big as a house. However with this Covid thing the Girl Guides are unable to go door to door selling so the grocery stores bought all their cookies and are selling them in the store. My wife grew up in the girl guide movement so we always support them so I picked up some on the weekend when picking up groceries. I should have bought more. But I do have a treat to go with my coffee3 points

I just finished eating a bowl. I added some huckleberry skyr, coconut oil, flax seeds, honey, cinnamon, and a banana. The oatmilk went into my coffee.3 points

Before starting a meeting with my boss online, she told me her adult daughter knew of 2 friends in Calgary, who were each fined $1,000 by the police for walking too close with one another outside and they weren't family members. Happened in last few days.2 points

That's why it's not staying hung up when I'm not there. But I want to keep the bars out of the way too, so it's hanging that way. The Hei Hei with the Fox fork will not hang by the front wheel. (Actually, that one will sleep up in the loft on my bed with me. )2 points
