  1. Wo46 and I had a good sidecar race but could only get 2nd place. We did shave 9 seconds off of last years fastest lap time. Our son finished 2nd in his race with a drag race to the finish and lost by .046 of a second. But out of all the losers we are the best losers.

  2. mr. and I celebrated 28 years together this past Saturday. But, I almost took out a lease on an apartment last week Monday, I was so done with being called mentally ill in various ways. But, that argument faded and then passed. It’s complicated. We’re going forward with kitchen remodel plans. Living year 29 together.

  3. The Bend home is going on the market Sept 25th. Talked to a realtor friend this week and was thinking to list it after the new house closes & the rent back period is done. then she says why don't you rent back? Duh! So try to get it done before November. She says it will sell one day. Listing price at the price another house got in March. But anticipate multiple offers & over asking. So I'm getting ready for pictures on the 21st. The new home closes next week on the 10th. I'll go back to Portland for that then run back to Bend & finish getting ready for pictures. All the pers

  4. I say to hubby “yay, packages!” he says ... “We are not expecting anything.” The driver gets out and yup....looks like we are getting a package. with great anticipation, I ripped it open. I didn’t even look at the return addy. It was an amazing gift from the lovely man that we all adore. JSHARR! He sent me coffee. I am so super excited. I am ashamed to say that we usually buy cheap coffee. Well, not Folgers, but lower quality. Like, Gervalia, and other decent grounds that are on sale. so this is a huge treat. Yay @jsharr Thank you 🙏

  7. Fired up the sidecar today with a different motor today. It's actually 3 different motors put together so we can race the final race of the year. The motor only has to last one weekend. Than I have a few months to build a monster motor for next year.

  10. Mom of 7 fell in the bathroom this morning and hit her head. She seemed more out of sorts than normal so they sent her to the ER. X-rays were taken and she has a cervical collar on and doesn’t like it. Blood work has been ordered but not drawn yet. She doesn’t remember that she broke a rib last month and that is why her side hurts. I told her, “ you have CRS”. She said, “what’s CRS?” “Can’t remember shit”. She did smile though. She will be moving to a memory care place soon. Either in the same building or to where my sister is at.

  12. We have picked out all the finish things, and only had one disagreement on a bathroom pedestal sink. He said we need cabinets and storage at every possible place. I caved. All of the finish things have been picked. We even know the color roof we want. Light grey. More good news. We are all approved for a standard septic (which is the cheaper kind and less hassle). I have a big replacement field area in the event that i need additional lines. Everyone at the city has been amazing. One person told me that we would need our plans drawn by the septic guy. 17. after the Cardiologist visit. Wo7 and I went to a local bar and grill and ate outside. Sitting alone at a table next to us was an older woman wearing a mask. She was wearing a knitted sweater. My wife asked if she had made it. No, someone gave it to me. That started a conversation that went on for a while. Wo7 had brought some masks that she was sewing for kids for the county volunteers. The lady complimented the masks so Wo7 gave her one. She was joined by another older lady and they were old friends who hadn’t seen each other in two years. The friend received a mask too. The first woman, is

  21. Had to go to the coast today and decided to get an early start and make the 8:45AM launch. My worst fear was having to shoot east into the morning sun. Far better with afternoon or evening. Once got past the morning ground haze, wasn't too bad.

  24. Wade put new taars on his Tahoe yesterday. He is 19 and wants a cool looking truck, so he went with a semi aggressive all terrain tire. Looks damn good, and I bit my tongue and did not get on him about mileage and wear and road noise. He can learn about that when his is old and grumpy. It was cool to see how proud he was of the tires.

  25. So I went to Road America for the day. It's something about watching vintage cars and motorcycle racing that I like. It's funny to see a car racing with the same tires that you have on your sidecar. The guy who owned this was a factory superbike racer in the 70s and still has the superbike my favorite car of the day

  26. In honor of our anniversary, I went searching for one of my favorite threads. I searched for all the "story of" threads and it made me happy to see how many "story" threads were posted by other people. But this one is probably my favorite - it combines family, the Catskills and it even is cycling related. And this is to make the post more festive for the anniversary party:

  29. My real reason for the trip yesterday was a mini-trip to some areas south for photos supporting the book. The early launch just moved my clock forward, and going straight rather than turning south where normally would. Needed pictures of an art museum, a wildlife are never been to, and re-do some beach/inlet photos that were quite dated. While it is normal to see gators, but I have NEVER seen a barracuda. Also, the Sebastian Inlet State Park expanded to both sides and was amazed how deserted the beach was. Then realized the the County has multiple free parks directly on the ocean spread

  30. The pandemic was just the push I needed to do what I should have done long ago. I used to enjoy going to the gym, but more and more, I find it an exercise in frustration. Mostly, the frustration stems from inconsiderate slobs who can't be bothered to put weight back where they belong, can't seem to bring themselves to wipe down benches and machines when they're done, and park themselves on machines between sets with ear buds plugged into their heads so they can conveniently ignore anyone who might ask to work in. Anyway, my wife and I had the discussion about investing in a home gym,

  39. My wife wasn’t expected to make it six months. The doctors don’t know, people don’t come with an expiration date stamped on their foot. It’s been over eight months for my wife. She isn’t getting better but she is hanging in there. She is getting better in one respect, her pain is pretty much gone now. I haven’t given her morphine in two months now.

  42. It was a great trip. Great company all around and we had some excellent conversations. I set out to do the trip again solo a few weeks ago. I did the GAP, but the weather was very hot, humid and it rained a lot. Between the rain and the humidity, I was drenched most of the time. After dealing with a serious fungal infection, I stopped in Cumberland and decided to go home. I thought a lot about you guys while out. 😊
