The injury to our running back was a MUCH bigger issue. Our defense kept us in the game. Our offense let us down. However, the missed extra point matterd. SF got six points off the two interceptions Every point matters to some degree, but the Cowboys needed a TD to close out the game. Really a TD plus extra points - either to tie or to win. They didn't get the TD, and that's not on the kicker's shoulders. They should be fine getting a new kicker, but that won't fix the other issues you mention.
