12string Posted December 22, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2023 We'll be in Vermont. One of our 40 for 40, back to the inn Where we spent a night on our honeymoon. Checked a few of the old New Year's Eve events we've done near there before - no more. There's NOTHING going on for midnight around there! Can't find anything less than an hour's drive. Maybe a night hike. Bring a bottle of bubbly. 2
Longjohn ★ Posted December 22, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2023 You should have gone to Time Square to watch the ball drop.

What did you do on your honeymoon? Maybe you could do a re-enactment. See new years in with a bang.

Dottleshead ★ Posted December 22, 2023 Share #7 Posted December 22, 2023 I never, ever do anything for NYE. Play it safe and stay home. Not necessarily by design. It's just what I say to myself ever year to make me feel like I'm outsmarting the system.
Zephyr Posted December 23, 2023 Share #8 Posted December 23, 2023 We went to a Vermont Inn on our honeymoon as well. We always wanted to get back and have not gotten back (yet)
groupw Posted December 23, 2023 Share #9 Posted December 23, 2023 Apparently the Italian couple is hosting a gathering at their new place in Chandler. They said we can crash there if we want as most of the guests will be residents at the apartment complex.

My brother's band sometimes has a gig in a bar on New Year's Eve and I'll show up around 11 pm, have a few drinks and conversation and leave soon after midnight. shootingstar Posted December 23, 2023 Share #12 Posted December 23, 2023 Every city I've lived in as an adult, always had fireworks for New Year's. I've avoided going to them simply because I don't enjoy standing around in freezin' cold winter night and not moving around. Plus hemmed in by other folks. (I've gone to major summer evening fireworks.) Nothing planned except listening to music.
BuffJim Posted December 23, 2023 Share #13 Posted December 23, 2023 My friends’s sister usually has a big party. It’s my adopted Italian family. Planning to stop by, but lately I’ve been leaving before midnight and watching the ball drop at home. BuffCarla said she’d go, but will probably try to back out.
