The funny thing is, NATE was notorious on that other forum for posting religious stuff or using it all the time in discussions. Basically, the religious peeps here don't want anyone questioning their silly religious ideas. But it's totally fine if they bring something up... I never saw the other place explode.... what arrogance and hostility existed? You learned to have a rationale or a good reason for anything you said or you got called out on it. Proper discussion if ever there was any. I had my own fair share of call outs where I was in the wrong. I grew a thicker skin. This place tho, it's like there's a gun ban in place....and the (Christian) police have a 2second response time. The only thing I don't like about the other place, as I do here, is that people seem to have a strange intolerance for anyone whose username they recognize, and are just tired of seeing their posts on certain topics...as if that's some sort of right they have. I don't personally know any of you at all...no first names, nothing, I barely even know where any of you are from. Yeah, I recognize usernames and the like, but I don't give a fig for any sort of 'community' that some seem to want to have. Users come and go with the wind....I'm totally fine if someone entirely new is the only one who even replies...I never target anyone individually with my content...and might I add.... It's pretty common in other forums for there to be such a large userbase that recognizing someone or even a pattern is impossible unless you spend all day on the site reading everything. So the problem is in you guys if someone like me, Nate, or someone else miffs your day a bit with a topic like religion. Move the frick on..... This place has very little "censorship". If you want to harangue against religion or anything else, there is a separate forum here that is unmonitored just for that very purpose. And the censoring of language and ideas is not practiced here as far as I am aware, with the exception of out and out pornography. Where is this pro-Christian format that you speak of? Also, I can only speak for myself, but I did not leave the other forum because of the software. There is a place for anyone to enter who so wishes and there will be little to no censoring of posts there - with the exclusion of pornography. Does'nt matter if you're following a faith or not, it's just that it is such an emotional issue, anger overrides courtesy. I like the idea of a seperate forum for these arguements....if you want to argue pro/con of faith, have at it over there. As far as Mr. Squarewheels pulling posts? Please,,,,he lets us have our way without much finger wagging. I mean...he left my Santa lap dance photo up till the season was over. Can you imagine hiker leaving that photo up for more than a few minutes? The forum switch at the other place was not the reason people left. The attitude of so many just went south. One example would be why Jsharr bailed. There was no reason for whatshisname the bike shop owner to go off on Jsharr the way he did, just because he teaches scouts marksmanship. We're not discussing different economic approaches or the financials on a spreadsheet here, we're talking about religious issues mostly that tend to often have zero logical/moral backing other than some 2,000 year old book which was compiled edited and re-edited to fit the political agendas of various regimes in Europe. The way this has gone down is that not a one of these bozos is bringing any rationale other than 'I have faith' to these discussions....and then they have the nerve to ask that I respect that approach.
