petitepedal ★ Posted October 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2013 So what do you use? I was using Dawn a squeegee but the squeegee died about 1/2 way through...I washed both windows as best I could with the squeegee...then I did them a second time with windex and paper towels...I remember my mom use to use newspaper. Now I gotta buy a new squeegee
Airehead Posted October 27, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2013 We use newspaper because Mr. Aire swears by it. Last year we paid someone to do it. didn't suit him.
Road Runner Posted October 27, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2013 Windex and 2 paper towels. Fold one towel twice into a smaller square and douse it in windex. Use it to clean the window. Dry and finish cleaning with the second towel making sure to not let the windex dry before wiping it off. Replace paper towels as necessary.
petitepedal ★ Posted October 27, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted October 27, 2013 The windows looked great...until the sun shined on them Oh well...the good news is by the time I get home from work it is dark or almost dark so who cares,
Sarah R Posted October 27, 2013 Share #5 Posted October 27, 2013 Windex and paper towels. I wash the inside and outside different directions so that when the sun shines in I know which side has the streak.
petitepedal ★ Posted October 28, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted October 28, 2013 I try to do that too Sarah...but I washed the inside windows about 3 weeks ago and can't remember which direction I went..well...I think across..However the demise of my Squeegee messed up my flow...so I HAD to do the windex...Hey we got rain and snow in the forecast later this week...it won't matter. Longjohn ★ Posted October 28, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 28, 2013 My dog washes the windows in the spa room when she licks the steam off of them with her tongue so she can see out. She doesn't do a very good job, she leaves streaks. It's good enough. Anytime I wash the windows the first time I get in the hot tub the windows steam up and she licks the steam off so she can see out.
Mr. Silly Posted October 28, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 28, 2013 I use this stuff when I wash the outside windows. It is a kinda fun to attach it to the hose and spraying the house. I use normal Windex and newspaper on the inside windows. They don't stay clean long because Lucy puts her nose on the window when she sees a squirrel

Square Wheels Posted October 28, 2013 Share #12 Posted October 28, 2013 YOu're supposed to wash them? This. In the 7 years we've been in this house I suppose we have washed most of the windows at least once.
goldendesign Posted October 28, 2013 Share #13 Posted October 28, 2013 House windows: Microfiber towel, terry cloth towel, 1/4 cup sudsy ammonia, squirt of dish soap, and a bucket of hot water. Use microfiber towel to scrub, squeegee dry, buff with clean terry cloth. Car windows: Two microfiber towels and a can of 3M 8888 Spray glass cleaner. Wax on; wax off method. Using one mf for damp the other to buff. When I detailed cars the 3M is by far the best evar.
Nate Posted October 28, 2013 Share #14 Posted October 28, 2013 window washing is a pointless chore invented by fussy women. there. I said it. Men have always believed that, but it went unspoken for the sake of general harmony
Randomguy Posted October 28, 2013 Share #15 Posted October 28, 2013 I don't believe newspapers are as good for window washing as people say. Anything that stains your fingers is filthy, why would you filthify your windows with that crap? I know, I know, "towels or other cloths leave lint", right? Better that than newsprint offal, if my thoughts on the matter are to be believed.
