Airehead Posted July 5, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 5, 2015 Back in the day when we ate food jsut because it was good the AT fish and the crunch coating was a favorite meal when I traveled with my friend and her parents. Back then I did not know the fish I was eating was actually a living creature. I remember the day my mom told me that.
onbike1939 Posted July 5, 2015 Share #7 Posted July 5, 2015 I've always loved Fish and Chips....always. As a young man I loved dancing and would go as often as I could, and walking home would eat Fish and Chips from a paper bag. There was nothing more delicious but it had to be Haddock and nothing as common as Cod.I can smell it even now.

LoneWolf Posted July 5, 2015 Share #10 Posted July 5, 2015 Wikipedia provides us with the answer, which totally explains why I do not recall ever seeing one.Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips is a fast food seafood restaurant chain. At the peak of its popularity in the late 1970s, it had about 800 stores.[1][2] As of 2015, following the closure of the sole Virginia location,[3][4] there are 14 remaining, all but one in New York and Ohio.[5]
Longjohn ★ Posted July 6, 2015 Share #11 Posted July 6, 2015 Ours just closed, the building is being remodeled for another use. There was an Arthur Treacher's truck in back of the building today. I have no idea why it was there.

Kzoo Posted July 7, 2015 Share #13 Posted July 7, 2015 I had one close to a work place back in the late 70's. I was there about once a week. When I moved west I forgot all about them - until just now. Why did I just get a craving for malt vinegar?
TrentonMakes Posted July 7, 2015 Share #14 Posted July 7, 2015 I feel like I saw one of these not too long ago, complete with the 4-sided rotating sign. Can't for the life of me remember where though.I don't think I've ever eaten at one. I guess that won't change anytime soon.
