jsharr ★ Posted July 8, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2021 Do you identify with the "generation" that your birth year pigeonholes you in? Born in December of 64 so I am either a very trailing boomer or a leading edge gen xer, I see myself as more Gen X. MTV, New Wave, lots of jobs, late to find a career.

ChrisL Posted July 8, 2021 Share #14 Posted July 8, 2021 I am technically a Gen X but am the child of Great Generation parents so kinda relate to both Boomers & Gen X. If I had to pick one probably more Gen X.

More of trailing boomer because of some major social changes /civil rights the middle boomers instigated.....what they did I connect strongly to/highly influenced. I was interviewed for a magazine that was covering social justice and race relations because I was involved for several yrs. And ..but I also had lots of jobs....9 different full time jobs up to present. But not late in finding a career.. I'm glad to have tasted a broad range of workplace cultures and experiences. Born in 59. I will not have gold plated pension because of skipping about.
Rattlecan ★ Posted July 9, 2021 Share #18 Posted July 9, 2021 1953 puts me kinda right in the middle of the baby boom, so nothing ambiguous about where I fit in.

Longjohn ★ Posted July 9, 2021 Share #20 Posted July 9, 2021 Every year when I was in school the classes got bigger. They were building new schools and cramming more desks in the classrooms. I was born in 1949 and in our school the class of kids born in 1950 was the biggest class ever. Then class size started tapering off. So I am definitely a boomer.
