I suspect she won’t tell me about if I have Parkinson’s. Basically the PCP seems to be the doctor that sends you to other doctors.

It's the world of specialized practice and guarantees all sorts of folks are paid... by you and your insurance... or simply you and me.

That's true.  The same with my dentist: when she thought I needed a root canal she sent me to an endodontist: a root canal specialist.

My PCP is up to date about things like diabetes.

My PCP and I had a philosophical discussion this AM during my type-II diabetes blood test follow-up and the 8.3 A1c that's not awful but should theoretically should be under 7.  Part of the problem is I'm eating much healthier the past 6 months and the supplemental insulin I take, whose amount I can vary according to blood sugar level and what I'm eating, can knock my blood sugar dangerously too low if I'm not careful and vigilant, so I'm taking less insulin: I'm on the 11th of 15 insulin pens after 6 months that were prescribed for 3 months.

Doc summed up, "The experts say that if you're 70, an A1c in the 80's won't kill you until you're over 100 and it's better to err a little high than go too low and die immediately."

So we worked out some tweaks where I can knock it down with the small additional amounts of the supplemental insulin at key times.

Good news.

My grandmother and mother both had Parkinson’s. I am starting to have a tremor and a facial quiver. I am worried and want to know if I should be doing anything. Just want to be sure I am doing everything I can to prevent the struggles they had.

It's good of you.  Always best in my book to be proactive.

I’ve always subscribed to the ideology of ‘knowing one’s enemy’. I’m sure that with the family history you have a fair amount of knowledge regarding this one.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you. My mother’s experience took her from active and outgoing to quiet and sad.  It was hard to watch.

I'm hoping for a good outcome.

THis is not to make light of an incurable condition but just observation...thought I read, that regular exercise can help a person be more competent.

Yep.  This falls right into my philosophy of "not knowing shit is dumb".  People run around in life because they are afraid and don't want to know -- and it costs them valuable time when they could have prolonged, altered, or even eliminated the issue had the got treatment EARLY.

Having said that, and assuming it is what she thinks it may be (and we incorrectly diagnose ourselves all the time -- we can only hope!) I'm not sure what her options are?  I would think some of those options would be better early than later.  But if onset of Parkison's cannot be treated or slowed down then it may be moot anyway.  Still, in that case, I'd want to know earlier than later so that I can do the things I always wanted to do before I could no longer do them.
