Everyday glasses are stored right-side up.

Wine/fancy glasses that aren't used very often are stored upside-down on a glass shelf.

face up stacked inside each other.  The collector sets of depression glassware are also stored face up but in a glass walled hutch.  They are then washed before use at a function......and after.

Mostly choice #2, except for a half dozen wine glasses hanging by the stems next to my wine rack.

Funny in that glasses/mugs are drinking side down but my water bottles are stored upright? I still have some old-school bottles with the small top and they don't stand well upside down so all are right side up, tops removed.

There is a reason folks hang stemware.  Otherwise, open end up for everyday glasses and coffee mugs.

Both. By switching the orientation every second glass, I can maximize the storage.

Eggzactly!  I remember FY chastised me for that when it was asked in The Olde Country - she asked who let the engineer into the kitchen.

I store my glasses in the case my eye doctor gave me with the glasses. I seldom wear them.
