We've been battling for the title of Local Legend on this one segment for some time now. He's got 55 rides on the segment; I've got 53. Today I thought I'd gain one on him, but he was out there too! On top of that, to add insult to injury, he challenged me to a sprint to the town line and won! Steve's a jerk. I have a feeling though he won't be out on the segment much once the weather turns colder later in the fall. Then I can turn the tables on him and rack up the trips! Muahaha! Most of the climbing was in the first 80 miles, and I felt like I could not make it to the end, so I sagged in at lunch. The tour organizers have what I think is a brilliant plan. They have different length options. When we got to the Paw Paw tunnel, I rode through it standing on the handlebars like Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. WoJSTL had to pedal twice as hard. Of course I am lying about that.
